Monterey Bay Suites

The elevators take a while but when you learn them they’re not so bad.

The room we were assigned 823 could you se a remodel. Tub replaced, walls needed to scraped, cleaned and repainted, looked like mold on the bedroom wall by the air conditioner. Base of the wall behind the commode was separated. Oil and replace door to balcony…it was rusty, loud and heavy. The the room itself looks dated. Breakfast not as listed in the website, what was there was: Grits, eggs, sausage, pancakes, cold cereal, fruit cups, juice. It did have two working pools during our stay, all elevators were working. Parking onsite. Front desk staff on personal phones when we arrived on two occasions and finished their texts before addressing us.

The location is great, views are great. The beach access, pools all do the trick. The parking garage is crazy difficult and stressful to navigate. Went for a week with my wife, two young children, and the in laws. Upon walking into our room, the maintenance of this place is shotty at best. The room wasn’t what most people consider hotel acceptable clean from check in. Lots of weird issues: toilet seat and electrical outlets installed completely crooked. Huge dent in the fridge and freezer doors. Holes in the walls from door stoppers, doors that are hung crooked and rub the floor when opened or shut. The pull out bed (from wall) in the living room had debris and mold behind the headboard. Stove top, microwave, floors and table tops were only wiped down quickly, definitely not clean. If you’re looking for a nice, very clean, resort, go somewhere else for the same price or slightly more.. It was good enough. I never ate the breakfast but was told it was okay.

Our room was absolutely disgusting! Upon arrival it appeared that staff was interrupted while cleaning and forgot to return to finish the job. They left behind cleaning products even thought the room wasn’t clean. The bathroom and kitchen area were stained up with cigarette burns, hair, and random spots on the walls that appeared to be dirt or dried up liquids. The kitchen was nice but wasn’t able to use it because there were no pots or pans. The bath tub was stained a grey ish color and had cigarette burns all over it and you could not get hot water the entire stay but when we did get warm water it sounded like construction behind the shower head. I booked a 1 bedroom condo with pull out wall bed and when we pulled the bed out of the wall behind the area that would be the head of the bed was covered in a black colored MOLD and DIRT the other beds in the room had a black colored mold under the mattress on the box springs. The only thing that kept us from causing a big issue was the friendly staff and the fact our family was really only in the room to sleep but I plan to contact management and send them all the picture proof of the unexceptionable conditions of the room

Good location to the beach

Looked the view but the sliding glass door didnt slide good it was a hassel just to go on balcony. There was a smell in the bathroom at all time. Septic smell

Elevator system is a bit strange and parking is very tight. Otherwise a great stay

Lovely staff

My only complaint was the lazy river was way too fast. I had trouble getting stopped to get out.

The Check in was easy as long as you have the correct address. But to actually get into your room was an issue. We had to call the company we rented the room from several times. We tried for 20 minutes to get the door open and still couldn’t, got blamed for user error. Then I got tired of waiting around since my son just graduated from ft Jackson basic training and he deserved so time to relax. Went to the lobby, waited for another 20 minutes in line and got tired of waiting so I stopped an employee and he was kind and patient and went up to our room and couldn’t get the door opened either. The company told us to put some power behind it and I b told them absolutely not I had 3 shoulder surgeries so no not about to have a 4th. Finally the hotel employee got us into the room, and then the maintenance guy from the rental property came. We left, when we got back he fixed it only for us to have several more issues over the next couple of days. They only do “surface” cleaning. No cleaning behind the dresser as well found melted candy, which we didn’t purchase. And under the bathroom sink we found a dirty sock. The ceiling light/fan in the first bedroom has loose wires hanging down and one of the plugin sockets in the living room was hanging off the wall. The ceiling in the bathroom under the vent has water damage that looked like it was about to fall down. Behind the Murphy bed it looks like nobody has cleaned it all year. The chairs on the balcony were old and rusty. Do better

The only negative is the parking deck. Really tight but plenty of spaces. Best to drive a full size vehicle. Compact vehicles are best. Limited spaces for trucks, vans, and large SUVs.

Staff was amazing, Unit was suitable for four and had a great view of the beach. MY only issue was the elevators, It took forever waiting and it took you for a ride some times.

Is in the perfect location! I will be back!

They charged me 100 dollar just if there was any damage in the room. Then have to wait 14 days to get my money back. That's not good

Not very clean. Rooms felt muggy.
