The rooms could be more modern. Everything is old the fridge, the oven the beds. People in the front desk was mostly nice and welcoming but not all. The noise out side with the band was annoying at some points. They play until 11pm and it's too loud. The beach was wonderful and clean. Loved it the most.

Room was good. It wasn’t very clean. The amenities were good. The property has a club that brought in not very good crowd. Not very family friendly

The hotel isn’t super up to date but don’t let that deter you from having a wonderful vacation there! This is my second time staying at the property and I’ve enjoyed it both times! You don’t need to leave the hotel to have a great time! I will definitely be coming back again!

Ill end this review with this, if you want to party all the time, this is the place

20 years I’ve been coming to Myrtle Beach, many hotel experiences during that time and Sands Ocean Resort is by far the worst hotel I’ve booked. The staff were friendly and that is the only positive. I booked a 2 bedroom and was put in a 1 bedroom. The hotel needs much maintenance and repairs. Theres watering dripping from ceilings in many different areas, including inside their River Walk Cafe. Rust build up. Dust build up. Carpets are filthy. You can tell the hotel is not properly cleaned thoroughly. Only got a visit once from Room service to bring towels. I was here 3 days. Pools are awfully small and only 5 feet deep. Same with the lazy river. Spent more time on the beach than at the hotel.

The room was not clean. We found hair in the sink, on the beds, and in the stack of dishes in the kitchen. The glass shower door was not clean. There was pink mold in the shower. And there was a roach near the air conditioner when we first arrived. The floors had not been swept well. General maintenance has not been kept up.

Employees are angry all the time . They get bothered if you need help. Management is none existent.

The room I had was dated and dirty. Tv didn’t work
-
Great stay only thing is the pictures aren’t the same as what I got! Only complaint.

When booking, I was under the impression that I’d have an ocean view room which didn’t end up being the case which was fine I just wish I would have known that from the get go. The room wasn’t cleaned properly before I got there I spotted several roaches during our stay. There was trash behind a nightstand from the previous people. My kids feet were black from being barefoot for 5 mins the first day we were there. Front desk staff was rude every single time I had to have an interaction with them. The only plus side was the access to the beach. I’m so disappointed considering this was my first time ever experiencing the beach and I just wish the resort would have been nicer considering the money spent.

5 out of 5 stars. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend to anyone looking for a good resort, there is live entertainment everyday into the night, the resort offers a ton of different things to keep you busy. It is starting to show some age but overall it’s extremely well kept and the staff were awesome. Our room was a little dated but it was also privately owned so you can’t hold that against the resort, overall we loved it and would happily go back.

The room we stayed in was not cleaned well. It was surface cleaned and could use a good deep cleaning of the carpets the floors in the kitchen area and bathroom and the wall. Exterior of the fridge, countertops and light fixtures (need dusted) all need a good deep cleaning. I know they have more updated rooms ours was not one of them. I was okay with the outdated rooms for the price being more affordable but at least clean the room well for the guest to feel comfortable. Staff was very friendly at the front desk and doors. Beach was beautiful. Pools amazing. Balcony with ocean view fantastic. Ocean Annies was always a great place at night. Great overall stay! I only put okay in the facility because it isn’t fancy for those seeking fancy and the room we had was not cleaned well.
