Hotel Mori No Kaze Nasu

I booked this hotel for my parents celebrating their 50th anniversary and they absolutely loved their stay. The onsen was quiet and they didn’t see anyone else and they said their meals were so beautifully plated and delicious. They want to stay here for all of their special occasions! Nothing

The outdoor onsen on the top floor is amazing, with multiple baths to choose from and fantastic views of the mountains and countryside. The staff were friendly, and very helpful in booking taxis for us to explore the area. Meals (breakfast 4 days and dinner 1 day) were delicious, and there was enough variety that we got to experience different foods each day. The discount at the affiliated Fruit Park (berry picking) was a nice bonus. This hotel is better reached by car than public transport (seems to be true for much of Nasu), and if your budget does not allow for taxis, you might be planning your daily activities around the bus schedules. That said, there is a bus stop only about a 5-7 minute walk away, and a few restaurants are within a 20 min walk.

I enjoyed the onsen, the food and the front desk and food and beverage staff were excellent. The staff we met were very cordial and welcoming. There was a late check out (11am) so you can enjoy the onsen one more time before you leave. The onsen closes at 10am. Communication could have been better. I communicated in Japanese and English that this was for my husband's birthday and I would like to have a special birthday dessert plate for him if possible. I know this service is available because the last time we were there they arranged a special birthday dessert plate and picture. I also told them he's allergic to eggplant. But no one responded to my message. I think they saw the message because they gave us the Italian dinner course we requested and there was no eggplant in our food, or maybe that was going to happen anyway? Also, the last time we were there, there was a Nespresso machine in the room but this time there wasn't. We were really disappointed because my husband was looking forward to it.

The onsen was a highlight - spacious and relaxing. There was an onsen day bed and sauna within and outdoor onsen pools to dip on. The hotel had a modern touch to it and feels like it went through a refurbishment. Staff were also polite and helpful to ensure a comfortable stay. We were told we’d be given an Italian dinner by default. There was no option within the booking platform to indicate this. We would have much rather preferred a traditional Japanese meal. Staff were also inflexible and were not able to cater to this meal change.

Dinner was amazing! Breakfast was good, but not as amazing as dinner. Staff were so accommodating with our requests and changes. Our waitress at dinner and breakfast was LOVELY! The only cleanliness issue was the space between the furniture and wall was extremely dusty.

It is near the teddy bear museum. The view from the room is impressed and the Nasu five mountains is very beautiful. The dinner and the breakfast are both delicious. The hot spring for male and female will be change by day, so I could try this two in my this stay. I prefer Japanese food to Western food, but I don’t know how to make a reservation in advance

the outdoor onsen was very nice. During my stay, I encountered several problems: 1. It was challenging to get in touch with them because they did not respond to messages. 2. Just before check-in, they charged my credit card and informed me that my dog was not allowed, despite their "pets allowed" policy and my prior communication about bringing her. (Booking.com customer service resolved this quickly.) 3. Upon arrival, the staff rudely insisted that my dog, who weighs 12kg, was not allowed to touch the ground and that I must carry her. 4. During check-in, I discovered that they had overlooked my initial pescatarian meal request, which would have gone unnoticed if I hadn't confirmed. 5. A petty staff member came to my room and forced me to go through each individual item on the menu to cross out what I could and couldn't have, even though I had already explained it to him. 6. My initial booking was for 4 nights, but Booking.com helped me check-out the next day. 7. During check-out, the manager happily charged me for one night's stay, including a dog fee, even though my dog was not allowed anywhere on the premises. There was no apology or sense of remorse. 8. While the female staff members were sympathetic yet quiet, the male staff members, including the manager, displayed passive-aggressive, discriminatory, and unprofessional behavior. 9. The hotel falsely advertised as being pet-friendly when it clearly wasn't. Overall, my stay was filled with stress and disappointment, and I would advise anyone to stay away from this hotel until the staff is retrained in hospitality and their pet policy is appropriately reevaluated.

very new and clean facilities

beautiful onsen, excellent service and the room had an exceptional view of the pine trees with snow falling on them. my dogs are hypoallergenic dogs and they stayed with me. so my room was a pet friendly room. but the previous guest must have had pets that left a lot of hair. I kept sneezing and developing stuffy nose because I am allergic to dogs. in any other part of the hotel I was fine. only my room I had these symptoms.
