Grotta Hotel

Staff were professional and hospitality was great! The cleanliness good be improved by checking the drawers after a guest checks out. Our room had a mess in the vanity drawers from previous guest. Otherwise the room was clean the bed comfortable and very clean. Really enjoyed our stay.

Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived on the island. The hotel picked us and our luggage up from the ferry port, which made our arrival completely stress-free. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing drinks and delicious snacks. Our room was sufficient enough for a comfortable stay, spotlessly clean, and very well maintained. The hotel stuff went beyond to help us with everything we needed. The sea view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, and the location was ideal—peaceful, yet only a 15-minute walk from the town center. The breakfast was fresh, varied, and delicious every morning. They also kindly drove us and our luggage back to the ferry port when it was time to leave. Unbelievable breakfast spread, amazing views of the Kastro and Gate of Apollo, great location, phenomenal staff. They made everything easy, from renting a car to tips on how to make the most of our stay. Literally nothing we didn't like.

Location just outside of town is much more serene and private, and offers unobstructed views of Apollo ruins and sunsets. Massive buffet breakfast with homemade Greek options covering any dietary requirements. Very clean facilities. They have a small pool/spa area that requires reservations (30 min), which is a rarity on this island. Port pickup/drop-off complimentary. Easy three minute walk to town downhill. Outside laundry drying rack and clothes clips was a nice bonus! This property is appropriate for people with mobility issues (ramps, elevator, standard doorways). Booked a room with a balcony on Booking.com but was put in the corner of the bottom floor looking into a courtyard toward other rooms. We were expecting something with a view. Hotel has complete discretion where to place you.

The breakfast is unbelievable- too many choices to enumerate! The ladies who manage reception and breakfast were terrific - always willing to help! Also the cleaning staff! Sunset views just outside over the Portara were amazing! No water view in our case

Breakfast is, as all other reviews state, the most amazing thing ever. No better breakfast buffet anywhere. Maybe in the world. :) Ride to and from port was helpful - Dimitris was very nice. Front desk folks (esp Connie) are great. Our room was not next to our kids' room, which was fine but not ideal.

The staff all are chearfull and friendly The undeveloped path towards the town, walking on dirt and it has no lights at night

The views were awesome!! The facilities were clean and the staff were all so welcoming and helpful! The unevenness of the dirt path up the hill to the facility

Excellent value, clean and modern hotel, hearty breakfast, good location to town and a truly caring staff. I saw some reviews talking about the path down the hill from the hotel into town. This is rocky with some loose gravel and I can see this being an issue for older folks. The other path to town following the streets would take 10-15 minutes instead of 5–10 minutes down the path. The hotel also offers free pickup and drop off for airport & port travel. We had a car so driving to beaches that were about 20 minutes away wasn’t an issue for us. The hotel spa has a pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room in the lower level adjacent to the courtyard. This does require a reservation but it was very lightly used when we were there so it was not a problem to reserve and was very nice. There is a rooftop area with lounge chairs. We went up there one night to watch the sunset and a great view of the Temple of Apollo. There is a “sister” property just across the street (Casabella) that is very similar to the main property but is a bit cheaper. Breakfast can be added on for a fee and you have full access to the main hotel property. This hotel is a gem & we were thoroughly impressed. Rooms only accommodate two persons. Our family of four typically like to stay in the same suite so we needed to book 2 separate rooms.

It's not really the hotel's fault, but the diners can be a bit loud at breakfast. Sleeping past 7:30 would be a bit of a challenge.
