Clean room and perfect location. The staff were not very helpful. Housekeeping knocked the room door several times while the Do Not Disturb sign was on the door!

Our visit this time around was a little less crowded at check in. This was our second stay and I will continue to make reservations here for my NYC travels. While I’m not used to a bellman assisting with luggage, he noticed I was in need of a hand and took my luggage swiftly with kindness and a smile. Receptionist was incredibly helpful (we ended up with a free upgrade). She made sure we were comfortable with the change in sleeping arrangements. Online check in—I highly recommend if you’re able to.

RIU has a quick and efficient system for storing luggage for travelers arriving prior to check in. We did have to stand in line twice in order to check in partly because the online check in process was nonfunctional. However, we were able to access our room prior to 3 PM which was very helpful since we were traveling with children. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean if slightly small and basic. The location is great for proximity to Times Square, theaters, and restaurants without much noise. Breakfast is included and is delicious and efficiently managed by hotel staff. Prices listed in Expedia are useful for a relative ranking between different hotels but do not reflect what you pay per night. Our basic room was a little over $500/night including various fees and taxes, significantly more than you might expect from the Expedia listing.

In the heart of the theatre district, walk to Times Square, Central Park and 5th Avenue...perfect locations for a visit to NYC. As a bonus, our room was super clean and restocked daily!

The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, so everyone could find something they liked. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist us with directions and recommendations. The hotel’s location in Times Square was a huge advantage. It made it very easy to reach many of New York’s main attractions on foot or by public transportation. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York.

The shower drain did not work properly and drained very slowly, causing water to back up and leaving the bathroom floor wet after every shower. The mini refrigerator also failed to keep anything cold. I reported this issue to the front desk, but no real solution was provided other than having to get buckets of ice to keep my drinks cool. Additionally, the iron in the room did not work. I requested a replacement, but never received one during my stay. For the amount paid, I expected basic room amenities to function properly and for maintenance issues to be addressed more effectively. Although I was disappointed with the room conditions, the location was excellent and convenient for exploring New York City, and the staff was generally friendly. However, the maintenance issues significantly impacted my overall experience.

Would not recommend staying here. The absolute worst check in experience I’ve ever had and I’m a frequent traveler. I was charged $28 to have my friend help me with my bags up to my room. The front desk manager Pedro advised that guests at this hotel are not allowed to have anyone in their room without paying for them as an occupant. Even with my friend leaving right back out they kept the money and said it’s their policy. It’s absolutely a way for them to make more money off of people. There are so many better hotel options in New York. This location does not treat guests well at all
