Beautiful Hotel with great ocean side views and friendly staff! Great price at a slow time of season. Awesome visit and want to go back!

We stayed in a superior king room, where the size of room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was great in quality and value. The shower was super, with great water pressure and quite spacious. The hotel is super expensive for what it is. We stayed in a superior king room, 108, and it was at the back of the hotel (although booking.com's description of the room stated that it had a sea view!). The room is overlooking the pub, where there was a live performer booked in on the Saturday. The noise is significant, and it goes on until about 1 am. We were not warned and would have changed rooms if we knew. The room was scorching hot too, there is a little window, but it can't be opened fully. The staff gave us a fan, but the hotel really NEEDS to invest in air conditioning. Outside of the one window in the room, there is a plastic roof that bounces the sun off, which glares so much that you have to pull the blinds down, which makes the room way too dark. It wasn't a great comfort for a superior king size, and the price for 2 nights for £391!!! It was dark, or blinding, HOT, uncomfortable and super noisy!

Lovely room overlooking the sea, with delightful, quirky decor. Staff were so friendly and the meals we had at the restaurant were delicious. Excellent location with terrific views of the beach and promenade Theres only three meal tables overlooking the sea, the rest at the back.

Staff friendly, food was OK, pizzas way to much garlic, breakfast was good. I paid £250 for one night easter prices. But I would not consider this a hotel room as such. The room was one of two located at the top of a metal fire escape over looking the smoking area and beer garden so was nosey. On arrival the room was stone cold. I turned the thermostat on the wall up as advised by reception and we decided to leave the room for an hour to let it heat up. On return the room was still stone cold so I checked and it was turned off at the radiator valve which I turned on. So we left again to give time for the room to heat up again. I would discribe the accommodation as a converted outhouse not a hotel room as such. Having said that the room is decorated to a good standard with a large bathroom. I would not recommend for a family room due to its location. Whilst the accommodation wasn't worth the money and the heating issue the staff were friendly restaurant was nice and the wee bar next to the restaurant was charming and cosy.

Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Large Ulster fry our first one. Very good but quite greasy as we are used to grilled breakfast. I suppose we should have expected this as it was an Ulster fry not an Ulster grill! Very noisy; however I guess we should have expected this as it was on the promenade! Unfortunately the Mourne mountains caught fire during our visit so lots of fire engine sirens! Unfortunately we actually arrived on the day of a charity motorbike ride so there was more noise due to this. Probably when there is no bike ride and no fire there is much less noise.
