The property is set opposite Newcastle Beach and is 164 ft from Newcastle Beach Tram stop. Catch the tram from the Greyhound bus stop at the Newcastle Interchange to Newcastle Beach. This hostel features a terrace with BBQ facilities, a large shared kitchen and a games room with table tennis and a billiards table. Guests have free use of surfboards and bodyboards. The hostel also offers a tour desk and laundry facilities. Both dormitory rooms and private rooms are available. All offer access to shared bathroom facilities. Each room has a fan, and includes bed linen. Free bikes and surfboards are available for hire

Great location, staff was super kind and helpful, and a HUGE kitchen and dining area are super pluses! Tons of fridge space and a lot of kitchen items like air fryers and rice cookers. Super cool! Outdated furniture in rooms. I know I get what I paid for but I felt every small movement my bunkmate made, and I’m sure they felt the same with me. Some newer bed frames would be nice!

Staff was awesome. It’s right next to the beach. The building is beautiful. Room was comfy and with enough space. One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in Aussie.

Location is perfect for the beaches, exercising and relaxing. Walking distance to grocery store, some restaurants . A few yards from the tram station. I stay at this place every time I go to Newcastle. Rooms are clean, staff are very helpful. No issues with the property . Just Some quests don’t clean up after themselves in the kitchen.

Location, kitchen, clean bathroom I requested assistance with restoring power to the room on three separate occasions. Each time, the staff acknowledged the issue but did not take any action and indicated they would refer the matter to management, without providing a timeline or resolution. I was also concerned that the heater was no longer available in the room. While I did not formally follow up on this matter, the lack of support contributed to a disappointing experience.

It could be a bit cleaner, and the staff are friendly but not particularly cheerful. There were a few cockroaches in the kitchen, and there's no air conditioning, so it gets hot in summer.

Power plug in the closet. Big equipped kitchen with 4 cooking stations. Complimentary bbq. Nice big living room with board games and movies available. Friendly and helpful staff. Not so comfy matress. No bed curtains. No bed power plug.

Amazing location right near the beach and short stroll to the ocean baths. Very hospitable and friendly staff. Great facilities, and the emphasis on sustainability is great!

Fireplace going all day and night, very spacious and clean! Got the luck of being only myself in the share room. There’s a heater in each room and extra blankets! 10/10

Very good location, just a minute from the beach. Very expensive price for a shared room.

Cata from reception was awesome! She was super friendly to everyone. The toilets and showers could be improved—there weren’t enough for the number of guests staying.
