The room was very spacious and quiet. The checkin process was handled at the bar and it took a little while to be checked in.

Overall ambience of the Hotel itself, original features etc Room was quite noisy from air conditioners on the roof outside. May belong to the hotel, may not. Room was very small, obviously a converted corridor. Was comfy enough

The location was perfect for wherewe needed to be The bed was amazing - best nights sleep for a long time Room was spacious Lighting up the stairs could have been better particularly at night when coming back from our function No elevator to the above floors. It was a struggle carting suitcases up 43 steps as we are over 68 years old

The Grand is located just a few minutes from Newcastle Beach. The welcome by the staff at check in was extremely good. Room size was excellent as was the quality and price of the evening restaurant meal. Stairs up to accommodation levels but it's a traditional pub style accom modation so not that bad. No shower screen meant water spillage onto the bathroom floor but again not an big issue. Paid parking around this precinct is a problem to be aware of. Overnight parking on street after 5pm up until 9am is free though.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. The location was great, close to beachfront and a short walk to the light rail if you want to venture further.
