The staff at the Vagabond Inn Costa Mesa is really what you pay for. They're the most personable and reliable and reasonable as well as efficient and with a smile and a laugh or two. Those kinds of things go along way when you're trying to just get into a safer place for an evening. You won't ever feel unwelcome or unequal here. If that is what you're looking for, the most at-home-like and comfortable vibe you could ever get nowadays from any hotel or motel staff anywhere in the OC.

The room was clean upon arrival. It was nice that a little refrigerator was available. There was no regular sugar packets left near the tea/coffee. Only a couple of shampoo/conditioner packets left for three adults, which wasn’t enough. Only two wash cloths were left as well as four regular size towels for a two night reservation 3 adults. The hair dryer was not usable-I had to quickly unplug it as smoke and sparks started coming out. I unplugged the hairdryer and took it to the check-in office. The guy just said thanks for letting me know. I told him it was a fire hazard. I then fell after checking out as there is a steep step to go out of the building. The clerk didn’t come out to help me up and only asked if I was okay from behind the counter. No information was provided upon check-in (time of breakfast, wifi password-only located on key card, where ice machine was located, pool hours, map of hotel, etc. The place itself needs an upgrade. A lot of things need to be looked at in general. I will not be coming back due to poor treatment & lack of concern for myself. I hurt both my knees & my toe was bleeding as well.

The pool and hot tub was working good. The breakfast was simple but good

Disappointing

Location was good Old, run down and dirty.

I like the location, close to the place where I wanted to be and the water pressure was outstanding. The thermostat and AC can use an update. They didn’t provide a hair dryer or ironing board. The place smelled old. You get what you paid for.

After my stay I was double charged for my stay and I contacted the property and he was very rude and not understanding I was double charged and that made me not want to come back to this place I had to contact my bank to fix the double charge

Was far from what I expected. I did look at photos prior to arrival. But felt like I was at the wrong place. Room was very smelly like water damage and mold. Covered with fresh paint. The room was Mickey moused in a gentle way to put it. There was poop on the door of the bathroom. Shower floor was dirty. The bed didn’t feel like a real mattress more like a thick pad. On a metal rack. Cigarette Burn in the blanket, Pillows were strange I can’t even describe them. I have never stayed in such a horrible place. Would never recommend anyone to stay here. The pool area seemed to be the nicest place. If I wasn’t in a rush. For an event I was attending I would have checked out and tried to find somewhere else. Luckily I had. My own blanket in the car so I slept with that. Luckily I got back late and left early. I feel like I was catfished by a hotel. For now on I will do research a lot better for my next stay. Anywhere. Lesson learned

They were good for a night, no complaints,

Fast food places were very close. Super outdated rooms and they said their credit card machine wasn’t working so I had to pay cash. Super inconvenient for me.
