The Buttonwood Inn on Mt. Surprise

Wonderful, family-owned historic property that exudes charm. We came for a hiking holiday and had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Donna Marie is an excellent host; we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here. We will be back!

It is quiet away from the main strip. It’s a beautiful location with a lovely pool and gardens, a gas fire pit and a back patio for socializing. It was soo clean. The hosts were wonderful. The room was very very clean It’s an old house so it is not a soundproof cement type dwelling. So you can hear people talking etc.

The Buttonwood Inn was a wonderful place to stay. The Inn and the Inn keepers were very welcoming. We slept so good, and the breakfast is delicious. We loved getting up to meet everyone for breakfast. We will definitely be staying with them again in the future. The Inn is in the perfect location. The pool was very relaxing after long days of exploring the mountains. We loved our stay!

Property was clean and in good working order. Very old inn, guests with mobility issues may have a problem with the stairs (steeper than typical). Pool is great and well maintained, breakfast was delicious every morning, they do have a dog on property (shes very friendly and very cute). We will definitely stay here again.

Very friendly family-run B&B - beautiful old house, spacious. The bedroom was cosy but a bit small. Delicious homemade breakfast. My daughter loved the pancakes.

Nice location to go to the Kancamagus Highway. Historic inn. Quiet. Comfortable. Tasty breakfast. Pillows were too big and firm. Bathroom across the hall...not a big deal since there were only 2 other guests. Steep stairs would be an issue for some.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the Buttonwood Inn. It was incredibly cozy and we were made to feel welcome the moment we stepped in the door. The breakfast was to die for! And as I’m a huge dog person, having a dog there was just the icing on the cake! I also loved that it was nestled in the woods so it was very serene being surrounded by nature Not much to be honest!! Perhaps the internet could have worked slightly better in our room but honestly that was the only thing!
