Island House Hotel

All of the staff from housekeeping to management were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be. We have decided that this is the only place we will stay for our annual trips. Cannot wait for next year!

A perfect place to stay for a budget girls trip. The place was very clean, spacious, and was just 1 crosswalk away from the beach! It also had plenty of amenities: a beach shower, free towels, laundry, a grill, and a gorgeous pool. The staff were very helpful, housekeeping was amazing. Would 100% recommend and return!

We’ve stayed here before for vacation and had a great experience, so it seemed like a no brainer to come back. This time around the experience was less than optimal when the water was off to the entire property’s showers for the majority of our stay. The staff was kind about the plumbing issues and tried to keep us updated, however offered no compensation at the time of checkout for the incredibly inconvenience during the stay. On vacation a hotel is a place to shower and sleep; when you can’t do half of that it is more than frustrating to have to pay full price for your stay. Although reimbursement or compensation has not been finalized, upon check out, we were informed that it would most likely be applicable to our next stay. It could not be more clear that if there isn’t any form of compensation or reimbursement for this experience, there will not be a next stay to use it on. This place is amazing, but make sure to call and confirm that the water is working ahead of your visit. For the staff, thank you for your help and communication, but people need to be compensated/reimbursed properly. The money reimbursed will be minuscule compared to the money lost if large amounts of bad reviews are written. Do the right thing and give back half, better yet, the full amount of people’s stay for the large inconvenience.

Size, fridge, microwave, plenty of towels, clean. Pillows were stiff. Please upgrade. Almost went to Walmart to get us better ones. Such a nice place other than that, but pillow issue stood out because everything else was great.

The rooms were beautiful. Loved that it had a kitchette. The pool was beautiful and clean. No complaints .

Room was very clean. The water pressure in the shower was terrible, but really the worst part of our stay was the pool. We actually left a day early because apparently kids are not permitted to swim in the pool. I stayed with my two kids. I went to the office to inform them that we had guests coming to swim from 2pm to 4pm. I was told it wasn't a problem (I did say it was two kids and 1 parent). The kids were swimming. Not running, jumping or purposely splashing anyone. A different guest came down and decided to read while in the pool. Her book got splashed. She complained. IDK who gets in a pool and doesnt expect to get wet?! Anyway, the office staff came out asking who kids they were and who was the registered guest etc. Basically putting me on blast for having kids in a pool. At a family resort. Not an adults only resort. It was the first and last time we were in the pool. We left at 4pm just like we said we were. We came back from dinner and went across the street to the double tree hotel and the kids swam for the rest of the vacation without any complaints from anyone. We wont be back to the Island house. I guess thats what we get for trying to support small businesses. Dont let your kids play in the pool at this resort.

It’s a hidden gem! The property manager was so sweet and helpful- loved her! The rooms were spacious and so clean. The pool was amazing. Having the crosswalk to the beach right in front of the hotel was awesome. We realize we needed to be on the first floor due to my husband’s balance issues with stairs.

The location was great right across the street from the beach. There was a grill at the pool area for cooking burgers

Great location! Easy to walk to the beach with a crosswalk directly in front of the hotel. They provide plenty of beach/pool towels as well as chairs - the umbrellas get snatched up pretty quickly but all in all you don't need to take anything with you for the beach, The Island House Resort Hotel already has it all! Management was great and all the other visitors were very friendly, great family atmosphere! We will be returning. The only complaint I have is that there are washers/dryers available for a small fee, but no laundry detergent on site to purchase which was a very minor inconvenience.

this is out 2nd time there & we love it, we will definitely be back. the rooms are beautiful, new, roomy with a modern touch. the pool is great. love the fact that they have beach towels, chairs & umbrellas you can borrow at no extra cost! overall a great place to stay. what was there not to like???

The room we had had everything we needed and would have been a great place to stay for more than 1 night. Definitely want to return here! The fact that there was no elevator. Thankfully, the owner helped me with my suitcase.
