Hotel Riu Vallarta - All Inclusive

This place was very clean. All staff were always approachable and friendly. We loved all the amenities they had to offer. This was our first time at an all inclusive hotel and it came highly recommended by a friend. We are very satisfied with our stay and plan to be back in the future. N/a

Enterteiment The view

The staff is there biggest asset. They work so hard and efficiently. There was not a place with comfortable temperature. We were from May 30- June 5 the temperature was very hot. 3 of the 4 pools have the water so hot, was not refreshing at all. The main plaza with no shade all day, by the night was very hot and no air circulating. Only the rooms, sports bar and bathroom (lobby and main plaza) have air conditioning.

The people were very nice. The buffet was great. I enjoyed the staff, they were professional and courteous. why would you have glasses in the restroom if i can't drink the water? Was I safe to brush my teeth? a bigger sign would be nice, the one in my room was too small and i saw it too late. I drank all my Pepsi lite in the room, and it was replaced with regular Pepsi. it seemed odd and i did not drink it. I ran out of water after night one and had to wait for only three more bottles a day later. I was so thirsty i drink from the sink! Check out was also strange. I have never been anywhere (in the world) where i could not leave my key cards in the room, that was a very unpleasant experience.

Two of the outlets in the room were loose and I wasn't able to charge in them.

It was charged incorrectly at front desk she demanded extra money instead of actual on paper

The food

buffet was great, room with ocean view was awesome, staff was friendly and there were lots of activities to do if you wanted, evening shows were lots of fun. Needs more washrooms, umbrellas on the beach should be complimentary, snack bar needs more healthy options, could use more loungers around the pools.

What I enjoyed the most while we were here was a few different things: The buffet was actually pretty good. There were restaurants around, but us personally we didn’t need to go. The buffet was enough for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved that there was a bar that still had food in it in case you get hungry at a later time like my kid did. The pool was very nice. (Very warm) The place looked and felt clean. The staff were very nice. A lot of activities going on. The drinks in the fridge were awesome! The bed. If you get a room with 2 beds, they are 2 double beds pushed together and are not very comfortable. My brother n law saw a cockroach in his room. I didn’t see any. There needs to be a fan in the bathroom. There is no air circulating in that bathroom and it gets steamy and then everything in the room feels damp. It’s weird. The food was ok, the breakfast was the best.

Booking missed up my reservation and I had to pay an additional $944. Stay was short with at the front fest and neglected for hours. Off a flight and brought no food or water to easy the process. I will never stay here again and will update my friends to never choose RIU. Very loud passed 11pm

Everything was clean, the food selectional was awesome, highly recommend Nothing! The bed was a little uncomfortable but no big deal.

+ Very friendly and helpful staff who genuinely try to resolve any issues + Extremely clean resort, including rooms and all common areas + Comfortable renovated rooms; I stayed in a partial ocean view king room with a nice balcony + Minibar in the room, refilled every two days + A lot of food options + Clean pools and a pleasant beach + Calm atmosphere (not a loud party resort) + Beautiful interiors and nice bars where it’s pleasant to sit and relax + Live music and entertainment are good + Good Wi-Fi + ATM and currency exchange available at the hotel - Rooms are not very soundproof; neighbors can be heard easily - Specialty restaurants are difficult to access — long lines every evening and only two open each night - Buffet food is decent but not particularly memorable - Wine served during meals is rather low quality - No free umbrellas on the beach - The advertised $500 resort credit is mostly difficult-to-use discounts for expensive services like the spa

The food was very good. Staff are friendly, hard-working, and the "heart and soul" of the resort. Love the beach. No waiter service around pools or beach. Chair Wars: Guests needing to "reserve" pool chairs with towels as early as 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM to secure a spot. We saw a lot of chairs saved and no one sitting in them for hours.

Location pools staff Due to the incident on Feb 23 the hotel was at reduced capacity so restaurants and menu options were very limited staff was cut short so line ups at the bars even with only 42 percent capacity

The views, and most of the workers were very nice. Additionally, the beach and spa services were excellent. The grounds were maintained well. Major construction began outside our room the day we arrived and continued daily from 9am–6pm. Hallways were full of dust, workers, and equipment. Dust entered our room and aggravated my asthma. There were no warnings, no signage, and doors had wet paint on the handles that were not cleaned. Clothing was damaged due to unmarked wet paint. Food quality was very poor throughout the stay. Buffet food was largely inedible, and the steakhouse served wilted salad and overcooked meals. Staff responses were dismissive, and management did not take accountability. We also experienced uncomfortable and humiliating treatment at the steakhouse, including selective enforcement of dress code rules. Overall, the experience did not meet basic resort standards and significantly disrupted our vacation.
