Staff were super friendly, place was clean and the hot water worked great! Nice view from the balcony. We were able to see the fireworks! No AC, but we opened the window and it was fine!

No hot water and there was no water we had to tell them every time

Uncomfortable bed and extremely bad shower. The first day I couldn't even take a shower because there was not enough water pressure. I complained and they tried to "fix" it themselves. It was slightly better but they didn't even call a plumber to solve the problem. I didn't have hot water for my whole stay despite my several complaints. The answer was "the boiler seems to be hot". But of course, they didn't call anyone to understand why I didn't have hot water. I asked for a partial refund at the end because of these issues and it was denied. They told me that I had to call the owner myself. Moreover, I had ants everywhere in my room and bathroom. Considering that I paid an absolutely disproportionate price for the room because of dia de muertos, the bare minimum would have been to ensure that I could properly shower. The hotel is a good 20-25 minute walk from the city center. I do not recommend this property.

no hot water in my shower either morning. Loud street noise.

The staff was super nice, friendly and absolutely helpful. I could even check-in earlier. I was even able to change the hotel rooms. I can not recommend this hotel - especially as a solo female traveler. But to start: the toilet in my booked hotel room (first floor with balcony) was not clean at all, the staff offered me another room (which I didn´t liked), so he suggested to clean the bathroom and then I can change rooms again. But in the end, the hotel room was not clean at all (e.g. my feet were black after taking a shower) and the room was full of ants (I asked the staff to give me some insect spray which I was able to use). Furthermore, the fan almost fall of the ceiling when switched on. And I was alone in the hotel (no reception, no other guests) and I didn´t feel safe at all. So I decided to move to another hotel the next day. I contacted the staff via whatsapp, explained the situation and asked for a refund of the other booked nights, but he never replied to my messages at all. So if you do not need a high level of cleanliness or security (as a solo traveler) than go for it, if not, please look for other places to stay (they are super nice hotels in the same price range).

Very nice and attentive staff. The location was good, not too far from the Zocalo and you can park on the street in front of the hotel. We had access to a small kitchen, which was a good add on.

The little hotel was spotless and the staff were very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Our overnight bus was leaving late, but we were allowed to keep our room till evening. There was plenty of hot water and a necessary fan. The nearby La Merced Market was a great place for a hearty Mexican breakfast. The Zocolo and other attractions were within comfortable walking distance. If you're looking for an adequate, friendly place at a reasonable price, Casa Ru fits the bill. The room was basic and very cramped for two people and overlooked the noisy street. I would possibly stay there again but ask for a room in the back, a larger one if available.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. Its 15 minutes walk from the "centro". The owner, Santa, is very helpful and welcoming. Rest of her crew, are amazing as well. Its really nice to see the smiling faces of the hotel crew everyday. We would get fresh coffee in the morning. We were allowed to use the refrigerator in the kitchen and it was a big help. I would buy fruits etc., and was able to save in the fridge. Santa and the crew helped with getting cabs etc. as well. Before I booked the hotel, I was not able to get much information/review for the place and I was not sure what to expect. However, once we were there, it was very nice. I would stay at this place again. The building is a bit old and the bathrooms have their usual issue. Santa addressed them quickly.

the host was really friendly and helpful it’s located near a noisy road and when the milk advertisement truck passed the 5 time in the morning and it’s so loud that you think you are lying on the street, it’s not very relaxing

Good location 10 minutes walk center but yet quiet and chill. All the necesery stuff not a big room but has Hot water, great internet, kitchen and a very homie vibes. Santa the owner is super friendly and will give you great recommendations. Really nice rooftop as well:)

Nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Flexible to extend and accommodating staff. On the ground floor facing the road, so a little noisy, but not in a party area so not a huge issue.
