Everything. Is not as mention. Bad service. No water no cleaning

The rustic type of building. The unbearable heat of the room due to the lack of air conditioning. The location on an extremely noisy corner. The shower with the pressure of a dropper. All the others guess were saying the same thing.!!!!!! Don’t spend your money in this terrible place!!!!!!!

The location is great, lots of delicious restaurants, cute cafés, and a nice park (El Llano) within 3 minutes walking. About 5 mins walking to Santo Domingo Cathedral. We visited for six days around New Years Eve (which means higher prices than normal) and the price at Real Santo Domingo was exceptional for the location. There is a shared kitchen with fridge, stovetop, and potable water, as well as a rooftop. This is the second time I've stayed at Real Santo Domingo. The first time was in 2021 for a solo work trip, and this time was for a vacation with my partner and my mother. The quality of cleanliness and comfort has noticeably diminished over the last 4-5 years. Check-in was easy because someone happened to be in the interior patio when we arrived, but they no longer have a check-in desk which makes everything feel more like an adult hostel or "posada" than a bonafide hotel. I've been living in Mexico for over a decade and come to Oaxaca often so this wasn't really an issue for me, but my mother was a bit confused and uncomfortable with this situation, as it was her first time in Mexico. My biggest issues with the hotel are: The rooms are not cleaned, nor beds made, nor trash removal during the stay; the noise when people check in or leave early AM is very amplified by the interior patio; the rooftop is in desperate need of some sprucing up to enjoy it fully; they do not provide any toiletries other than hand soap; and the shower heads are horrible (at least in rooms 5 and 6). That all being said, this could be a great option for a young solo traveler on a budget. The location is really great and when we needed extra blankets the staff was very attentive.

The shower didn’t have much pressure to it but it got the job done!

I had to stay for one more day in Oaxaca. They were very open to have me one more day.

My message with the code arrived on the second day, but I got in. One bar or no wi-fi in the evenings. In 5 days the room was never serviced. Didn’t take my phone only once, and at 8 PM I was locked out of the hotel.

Location is perfect if you plan to experience historic Centro. I stayed a week, slept well even though my room was next to the busy street, used the kitchen and terrace, and had breakfast in the lobby cafe. Overall, since the hotel is simple and traditional, I felt like I was part of the city, not just a visitor Previous guest’s forgotten clothing still in a drawer. Missing light bulb. Overall, needs more attention to detail

The hotel is on a main street and at times can get a little nosie.
