I love that it is woman owned and an eco hotel. The staff was so helpful and friendly. It was nice that we could borrow umbrellas, hats and bags for an outing. The kitchen used to serve breakfast was right outside our room so there was a bit of noise in the mornings. Although it was nice to use the patio right out front, it would have been nice to be in a room away from reception and the main walk through area. I could have requested a change but we were already settled into our room.

The property itself/courtyard is beautiful. My room was large and had a desk which I appreciated. Great location within walking distance to everything right downtown. The gate was secure. The room quality was not as nice or comfortable as I thought it would be from the photos, especially given the price.

The room that we got on our 2nd day had really high ceilings. The staff was very attentive. Hot water issues.

Excellent value for money, nice, simple breakfast included. Was everything I needed and wanted for the brief stay.

The room was huge with refrigerator and stove top. It was the size of a large studio apartment. It was very clean. The price was low compared to others in same location. Parked my rental car down the street. Room felt a little humid at night, room does have a.c. not sure if I had the right settings.

I had a wonderful time during my stay. The staff and guests were all so friendly, and I felt truly welcomed. My room included a refrigerator, which was very convenient for keeping food and drinks cold. I met many travelers from around the world who shared stories about the city and their countries, making my experience even richer. One important note for future guests: the gate closes after 11 p.m. I panicked a little when I returned late, but the security guard—a very kind man—showed me the bell so I could get inside. Thanks to his help, everything worked out smoothly. Overall, it was a great stay filled with kindness, comfort, and connection. ?

The staff at this place are truly lovely, kind and helpful. It is like staying in a family place where so much care is given to the property and the guests. We definitely plan to go back! When requesting a room, ask for one in the courtyard, which gets lots of sun and has beautiful gardens.

The room was a bit small and breakfast options were limited to bread, cornflakes and coffee. Parking in a nearby parking lot was pricey.

We liked everything, the people who run it are incredibly professional and cannot do any more for you, which feels pretty unique. The community feel at the common areas is palpable and makes your stay much more welcoming/shareable (you're not a stranger in a big hotel). The location is unmatched. Close to all cool places of interest but at the same time not noisy.

Simply outstanding atmosphere, the staff kindness was a warm welcoming in my first trip to Oaxaca. It’s perfect if you are travelling alone, since you will meet a community of very interesting guests who are choosing Las Mariposas since many years for their holidays in town. The location is definitely one of the best, very close to the heart of Oaxaca, and despite that, at night my room was very silent and peaceful. I couldn’t chose a better place to spend my vacation, and I will definitely come back in the future! I liked everything, really I can’t have a single negative comment.

very nice staff, comfortable rooms and beautiful garden. It is a place for longer stay for some elder people but they are very nice and friendly. Even if it is not reported you have breakfast offered and the nice common kitchen is useful if you stay longer.
