Hotel Casa Cantera

i liked the aesthetic of the hotel, was very secure and comforting the power went out every night, had no fridge, or microwave. bathroom fan was very loud and annoying

Nothing in the room was convenient i.e. wall switches, small bathroom and room size.

The terrace was closed. I guess it was low season.

Location is good and clean

Location was solid, a 15 minute walk to the heart of centro. Staff was responsive. AC was cold and the internet worked just fine. Bed was comfortable. The sink design means if you move the handle more than an inch upwards you'll get splashed with a ton of water. Silly design. I didn't have the best view from my room (the hallway) but that's a minor nitpick.

The property is very nice and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is fantastic !

Nice building, great location The rooms seem very outdated and lack of privacy. Many of the windows are either on the street or on the interior of the building

Located only a few blocks from the bus terminal, the taxi was only 70 pesos. Walked down a few blocks for dinner. The staff was helpful and friendly. Instant hot water. Beautiful hotel. The sink was very stylish. Maybe too stylish, I could not figure out how to stopper it. It was not possible to fill the sink with water.

Great hotel! So clean and new. A bit on the outskirts of town (15 min to downtown Oaxaca) - but the path is on safe & quiet side streets.

The hotel itself is nice, although the rooms are simple and small. The terrace is nice with a restaurant that opens until 1pm. There is a lounge space on the second floor. The hotel is quiet and a little bit of a walk for the main square. The reason for my poor review is because we had 3,000 pesos “disappear” from the stack of money we pulled out to pay our wedding planner. We were also never given access to the safe. There were no instructions for the keypad and the key itself was never provided to us either. The worst part was how the staff handled the situation as there was 0 accountability. The receptionist was rude and blamed us for not using the safe (which they didn’t give us access to to begin with). I had already pre paid and booked 4 rooms for a future date as well directly with the hotel and when I asked to cancel given this experience she gave me the run around with no assurances. I followed up by emailing to cancel with a full refund given that the reservation is still 8 months away and am waiting to hear back…

Great location in easy reach to beautiful streets, cafes and restaurants. The staff were really helpful and accommodating. The rooftop for breakfast is excellent

Exceptional

Went for Día De Los Muertos and is Walking distance of 18 minutes or less walking to food, attractions, and town center (Zocalo). Would definitely recommend. Staff is amazing and worth it for the price. Beds were not as comfy as I would have hoped and bathroom was a little small. Still great for value. I would stay again.

Price was good. Rooms are good, but nothing else. Breakfast was very good, and staff was really friendly. I'd stay again, but only if the price is good. Rooms are very simple. Mattress size was short and a little hard. Bathroom was ok, but could be better. Views for rooms could be better. Ok

Good location, friendly staff, modern feel around the outside. Free coffee bar Inside the rooms could do with some updating. Bed is on the small side and our room was internal facing would need some fresh air!

Superb

A decent enough hotel with basic amenities. It's clean and the staff on reception were very nice. Very walkable to the coach station and a little further out from the centre (which is quite nice!). Stayed for a night and it was fine. Not the most comfortable for a longer stay, imo. The only window/door in the room looked out into the open corridor, which felt a little weird. Because of the set-up, I got woken up quite early by people in the corridor / cleaning the rooms.

The staff was some of the nicest people I've ever met. I went there for a wedding and they (Luz and Miri) helped me out with unexpected difficulties with such kindness. I recommend this hotel because it's comfortable, pretty, artistic, clean and has a great location. The restaurant is so nice and relaxing, I loved the rooftop and the food was excellent. It felt like being at home with a luxurious touch. You can hear traffic noise in the morning, but other than that you really enjoy your stay at Casa Cantera.
