Hotel Parador de Alcalá Oaxaca

Superb location;, close to everywhere two blocks from Sto Domingo and walking distance to the Cathedral. Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Great breakfast!! Excellent service for the price. It has a nice touch or modern construction combined with an an old building. Super clean. Family oriented. No amenities in the pool area, such as TV, bar, etc. Swimming pool does not have easy access for handicapped people or elders.

The staff are lovely, the hotel is well situated in centro, very clean and our room was quiet and large. The shower is excellent and there’s a lot of space in the bathroom They had warned us but the rooftop and pool were closed for maintenance. There was no noise from the workers though, which was great.

Location Noisy

Location, breakfast and pool were excellent. Rooms do not have refrigerators. Air Conditioner vent blows air directly on you while in bed. Interior rooms lack sunlight and outdoor air. Shower floor needs rubber mat to prevent slipping—very dangerous.

The location, the pool area, and the breakfast were all excellent. But above all was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. No complaints.

The hotel is located right on the city historic centre, on the pedestrian street that leads to all the major attractions. You can see from the hotel the folkloric parades that pass by almost daily. Everything is a short distance walk. We had a superior room with two beds, the room was very large with very high ceilings which I very much liked, the bathroom was also big with a walk-in shower and a separate sink. We requested a crib for our baby, and we got a beautiful wooden crib with very comfortable bedding. Besides the location, when I booked the hotel, I read that it had superb breakfast, and it did not disappoint! The breakfast menu is widely varied, with some mexican options as well as continental type breakfast, the quality was over the top, which was evident as I noticed that some locals (non-guests) came to the restaurant just to have breakfast. The courtyard where the breakfast is served is very pleasant and the staff are always gentle and polite. We ordered food from the restaurant also for dinner and lunch, and it was very good, even better than some of the restaurants nearby. It was nice to have a pool at the hotel to enjoy in the afternoons. I highly recommend! Would love to go back anytime Our room was a little noisy, especially on the weekend, as it was located right on the street with two large windows that may need some sound proofing.

We enjoyed a wonderful week here. The breakfasts were exceptional and all the staff were very kind and helpful. The room was large and comfortable and the location was perfect.

Location is great

Love everything about this hotel, location, cleanliness and comfort. Rooms are spacious and beds/bedding are very comfortable and luxurious. The location cannot be any better as the front door opens to the pedestrian only street in the historic center. Breakfast was also included and the choices are vast from chilaquiles to pancakes and French toast. Coffee or tea and juice, fruit and sweet breads are also provided. And not just cafe Americano, but espresso drinks as well. Such a nice way to vacation in Oaxaca City. There is no elevator, but the staff gladly helps with your luggage.

This hotel is in a central location On a central block that is closed to traffic. Nearby and within walking distance are the Cultural Museum, art galleries, jewelry stores, restaurants, and more! The staff truly goes out of their way to assist guests. The cleanliness is superior, and maintenance of this architecturally interesting property is impressive. Pool patio at top floor has shaded copies and lounging chairs, and provide amazing views of the churches and city. Not too far from the hotel are the amazing ancient Zapotec city of Monte Alban. Not all guest rooms have windows, although ours did. If you can't climb stairs, ask for a first floor room. Pool is not heated so water is very cold. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a quiet room as they have those too. Pool highly recommend this hotel.

I loved that it is close to everything no need for taxis , we walked to el mercadito and even to our friends hotel everything was close and the hotel was in the middle great location . Also we were in Oaxaca for a wedding so the hotel included breakfast so no need to rush and get ready just headed down and ate to get the day started. Also the staff was amazing I needed my dress steamed and they took it for me to a place and brought it right back.
