Location, friendly staff

Location, friendly staff. We arrived early and, since the room was available, they allowed us to check in.

Location and cleanliness.

The accommodations were excellent. Our room was spacious and very clean. Daily, excellent cleaning.Well-lit with big windows facing a safe courtyard. Safe box, use of an iron. Access to purified water in the hallway. Staff is very helpful, and security is great. Very nice hotel on an enclosed central tourist main street with shops, restaurants, banks, and security. Attractive hotel. Breakfast was a bit inconsistent. One day we were charged for requesting bacon, another day, we were not charged. Beans were not served daily with the eggs. A bit confusing. It was very nice to have the lady making the fresh tortillas visible to the guests, which she deserved a tip for excellent tortillas.

Exceptional location; safe; very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Breakfast included (including various egg dishes, fruit, bread). top notch stay!

Staff - especially the gentlemen who served breakfast. Truly exceptional. Also those who cleaned our room did a great job! Bed was too hard. I have a bad back and the bed was a killer.

Location is perfect Bed could of been bigger and more comfortable

The location of the hotel is great. It was clean and the staff are nice and welcoming. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The cheap furniture, the cold white fluorescent lamps, the old towels and the amenities in the hotel none match a 4 star hotel. This is at best a 2 star hotel so set your expectations accordingly. The rooms don't have windows opening to the outside. You can't leave the window open or someone can simply walk into your room.

It’s in a good location within walking distance to a lot of places. The breakfast was very good, honestly some of the best food we had during our stay. And the staff were super nice and helpful. The door is locked at night and you have to knock, but we missed that instruction and walked to the cafe next door after trying to open it, and a staff member walked out to find and help us. Rafael served us during breakfast and he was super nice and friendly.

Located in the center of the city, facing the main street, Calle Alcala. Very convenient for going to various places. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was served on the terrace and there were several menus to choose from. There was no elevator, but that's normal for hotels in Oaxaca.

This hotel is a gem, located on a pedestrian-only street, easy walking to tons of restaurants and tourist locations. The continental breakfast of fresh bread choices, fresh fruit, juice and coffee filled us up for a good start to the day. The rooms are spacious. The staff is really nice and helpful, arranging drivers and helping with any questions. The artist's gallery and pieces in the rooms, tons of plants and fun hanging decorations in the central restaurant all add to the cool atmosphere.

The location of the hotel was excellent. It was within walking distance of most restaurants and sites in the old city of Oaxaca. The staff was very nice and helpful. They arranged taxis to airport and Monte Alban. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, fresh juice, coffee and pastry. The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable.

The staff were so lovely. The room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet and dark at night. The hotel was well-situated. The breakfast was perfect for me - coffee, fresh fruit and pastry. Enough to get the day going and still allow room to explore other food options.
-
Quality of the breakfast was excellent The quantity of the included breakfast was a little poor - just one bread roll per person. Also they didn't start serving breakfast until 8.00am which is a little late for sightseeing.

Location, service and value are top notch.

The location was fantastic! We were 2 blocks from the Zocolo, and could walk very easily to every major site in the city. There were also lots of restaurants in easy walking distance. Our room was very quiet and given all the parades and street activities going on during the night, that was appreciated. The staff were outstanding and extremely gracious and helpful. They recommended sites to see, best times of days to do activities, and helped us get connected to out-of-city, all-day tours never making us feel as if we were imposing. The servers for breakfast each day were extremely friendly and took care of us well. We wanted our stay to have the flavor of Mexico, and it did it so well! Thank you, La Catrina de Alcala - we will come back to visit again! Breakfast was pretty modest (a roll, coffee, sliced fruit and juice) -- but it was exactly what we were told ahead of time, so we didn't expect any more. It tasted just fine, and the service was exceptional.

Great location. Negatives - very little hot water, beds could be more comfortable. Staff was super and very good location. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend for sure. Coffee not fabulous. See above
