Our room overlooked the canal which was very picturesque. Reasonably spacious except for the bathroom. I would have liked the choice of a continental breakfast.

Central Hotel is located within easy walking distance of Okayama station, along the city's canal walk and opposite a pleasant park, overlooked by the majority of the rooms. The area is really pleasant and that carries forward to the staff (who were very professional and pleasant) and the hotel itself. The style is modern, the rooms clean and well furnished with a practical, relatively spacious layout. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast option, but everything I did experience was top notch! Not really criticisms, but I didn't realise staff would enter the room daily for turn down. A "Do Not Disturb" sign would be appreciated. Also note that guests are asked to return keys to the front desk when leaving the hotel.

Location is great, about 8-10 minutes from station by walking. Japanese style breakfast is good while time for breakfast ends quite early.

We stayed here for one night, and the hotel was just fine for our needs. The hotel staff was friendly, and were quick to answer any questions we had before we arrived. The room was a bit small but nice and clean, and it had a view of the park outside. The pillows were a bit hard, but the biggest problem was the noise from the air conditioner. No matter what setting we used it made a lot of noise, so it was hard to sleep.

The location. The hotel was quite expensive. Paid ~88 USD per night and the standard did not reflect that at all. The hotel staff were polite but barely spoke any English. The Japanese breakfast was very basic. Not worth the money. For a 3-star hotel I would expect something more.

Friendly staff, clean and functional Bit tired and dated.
-
Comfy room, peaceful area. Less English speaking staff.

Nice place for a short stay. Central location and the room had everything I needed. It was strange that the key should be given to the reception every time that you leave the hotel. How do you know the key is secure and no one else uses your key while you are away? This system caused me delays when I was returning to my room and had to wait in line behind other customers to get my key. This system should be removed or automated. Maybe this hotel has had problems with more people staying than were paid for, but I have not experienced this in other hotels.

Location was excellent No curtains or blinds on the windows and the neon light outside shone straight into the room. Windows and windowsills were very dirty

My room can easily hear the constant footsteps in the doorwar as the room is very close the elevator. The breakfast experience is meh in term of food and service, with only one staff working in the kitchen doing everything..

Comfy, clean Desk lights were very hot, but otherwise very good
-
Lovely staff and a good breakfast The double room was very small and we were not able to unpack many things from our suitcases. It was also a longish walk to the train station.

Good price and good location for visiting Okayama
-
Standard room, nice bed and big screen tv. The door is hard to lock/unlock. There's a bit of hair left in the bathroom. The bidet controller seems malfunctioning.

This is my second time staying at this property. The location is fantastic—close to the station, shopping malls/supermarkets but off the main streets. I enjoyed walking back to the hotel through the river park. Nothing I didn't like, but the hotel does ask guests not to leave valuables in the room unattended and instead to bring it to the front desk for storage. I am the anxious type so I ended up developing some trust issues and started packing everything back to my suitcase before going out in the morning, and sometimes I asked the front desk staff to store my laptop there. To be sure, the staff were always very patient and sweet with my requests. I certainly also appreciate the amount of consideration that the hotel puts into preventing theft. But to be honest I wouldn't worry about it to begin with if I weren't exposed to the warnings....
