Ocean House Hotel & Motel

room was good size and had bedroom. bathroom, kitchenette and living room. Beach was a 5 minute walk. We had access to pools from other hotels (4 total). 10 minute walk to amusement park and restaurants.

This place should not be offered to mid and high value travelers, much less to international travelers. Very run down property, noise, very old and over priced. The night should be $50 not $320, it’s a rip off. Never will stay there and won’t recommend to anyone.

What I hadn’t anticipated was how noisy this place would be. You hear everyone in the yard, on the street, on other decks, throughout the Ocean House, the a/c unit rattled, the dumpsters bang, and the train blows a LOUD whistle through the night. Most of that is not the hotel’s fault, however, it is information I’d want before I booked. Oh- also, no elevators, so plan to haul your luggage up the wooden stairs (3 levels for us).

The room was small, as in it fit a bench and a king size bed only. You couldn’t really walk around. The bathroom had more walking around room. A good 5’ turning radius clear. Bathroom was fairly new and clean though. The room is loud. There is a train that goes by 4 times in the night. BLASTING it horn. Wonderful for a nights sleep. The area is ok. For the price of the hotel, youre better off staying at a higher quality hotel and in a better area. Like Freeport, kennybunkport or something similar. This place isn’t worth it. Probably nothing in this area is.

Just tub caulking could be changed and cleaner but all else was clean

Ocean House was amazing! The rooms have been renovated but they have kept the original charm of the hotel which was built in the 1890s. The room was very tastefully decorated, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We stayed in a premium room in the original hotel overlooking the ocean. My only “complaints” would be that you can definitely hear noise in the room from other guests (likely due to the age of the building) and the air conditioner on the wall was loud when intermittently turning on (but these things would definitely not stop me from staying here again). Very convenient location to beach, downtown area, and parking included. I highly recommend the Ocean House!

Absolutely gorgeous place just steps from the beach and downtown. We were able to walk to everything!

Since this is an updated older inn, the rooms are small, but the feel of the place is wonderful. Steps to the beach, but you can't see it from the hotel. There's a train nearby and the front door could've used some grease, as the squeaking was very loud at night. Overall, a nice place to stay with great personality.

Parking was good. No beach view from our room. But a really close walk to the beach.

The room was very clean, staff was very helpful, parking could have been better but it worked, and very close to the beach.

The property is in the middle of Old Orchard Beach. This is a resort town. Through no fault of the hotel, it is loud with lots of people, trains going by, motorcycles revving engines. I did not realize this when I booked so shame on me. I am older and would have preferred a quieter place to stay. Lots of people though having fun. Amusement park maybe 200 yards down the street and lots of restaurants with music.

Had trouble with our toilet clogging, wished there was a plunger in the room so we didn't have to wait for staff.

Positives as the location to the beach Check in time Outdoor pools Checkin/out staff were awesome. Negatives Condition of the unit, resort as a whole, laundry facilities The picture on line of the unit booked was in no way what we walked into. Unit was old, mattresses needed replacing as hard and very uncomfortable. Very hard to determine if the unit had been cleaned Kitchen sink. Cooktop, fridge combo was crowded and original cooktop and built in fridge not working so had a separate cooktop on top. Was directed to bag all towels, and take out own garbage as well as wash own dishes. Yet no dish rack provided. Kitchen had limited utensils….very lacking, mis matched.

Property was clean, room also, they own a strip of them in a roll you can use all 4 pools and hot tub. 8 to 10 pm is adults only for hot tub which was awesome. We had parking lot view but was ok. Short walk to the beach .

Très bien situé à côté de la plage. Beau, rustique, propre. Parking gratuit! Rien de négatif à dire, ça vaut le prix.

The beach view was wonderful! Staff was great! Parking was hit or miss, and no elevator. We were on the 3rd floor, and my husband and I are both in our seventies, so it was a bit of an issue for us.

Second year coming to The Ocean House. King sized room next to the pool. Walking to all the beach is a snap. Private and not crowded at all. Bonus is use of all the properties different pools. See you all next year!!

Room was clean and beautiful. Very welcoming and a great stay. Great beach and good amenities such as pools and hot tubs. Would recommended to anyone and we will be returning!!
