Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Tampa Northwest - Oldsmar by IHG

I feel kind of torn honestly on this review. Upon arriving the hotel was nice and clean from the outside. Check in was easy and the lady was nice. The room was clean. Had a small odd smell, but looked clean. The first impression was good. It was the experience during the stay that was interesting. The first thing I wanted was a coffee from our long day of travel. The packets of cream and sugar were so old that the powdered creamer came out as a compressed sheet of paper. I asked for them to bring new ones. We ended up leaving to grab some and on the way out the receptionist suggested we grab them from her on the way back in. The first day someone came up to clean our room but they didn’t sweep the bathroom floors or leave toilet paper. I believe some of our old towels were re folded as well. The next morning we slept in until 10am. Didn’t receive any room service that day. Had to go down that night and request for clean towels and toilet paper on two separate occasions. Both times a sign saying they were assisting other people was up on the counter. Waited awhile both times for the gentleman to come out from the back. Over all it just seemed a lack of care or assistance from the staff. When we told the ladies at the front desk about the creamer they laughed. The guy behind the desk at night acted like we were bothering him. It’s so unfortunate because I’ve considered becoming a member because my family and I travel so much. I don’t know. It just wasn’t quite what I expected.

we were here for a little over a week, and have nothing but excellent things to say. front desk staff Brandi & Christina were great. they helped answer any questions we had and were always so friendly. breakfast attendant was wonderful as well! she made us feel welcomed by greeting us every morning. free parking and complimentary Tesla charging was a huge perk. although, only one Tesla charger was working. lots of good restaurants within a walkable distance. we enjoyed the pool quite often during our stay!

Only complaint is I’ve requested for a King bed room but got 2 Queen beds room instead.

Location close to both downtown Tampa and the beach areas. 8 mins from the airport. Very clean, room was large, mattress was a bit soft for our liking but we managed. I was not happy we didn’t get housekeeping on the last day, no toilet paper or clean towels. I ended up having to go downstairs at 11:30pm to get them. Other than that, no issues. Breakfast is included, coffee was good. Pool is small but updated and clean. I recommend this place.

The Staff was Super friendly.

Room was very clean when we arrived. AC worked great in keeping the room cool in this summer heat. Breakfast had great choices and the staff was very helpful in responding to needs. The pricing of the front desk store was also great especially when needing something in the middle of the night.

There was a distinct smell of urine in the room. They were responsive when I reported it, but it was a lot to clean and pretty deep in the carpet. It was damp and smelled pretty bad due to the heat. Also, the television setup was TRASH. No channels and the ones that did work, were not the ones on the TV menu. There was also NO way to get my firestick to work on them. The TV remote was foreign to the television and due to it being an aftermarket remote, all of the functions were not programmed correctly.

The people at the front desk were very helpful. The rooms smelled very fresh. We will return.

Checked in at 10pm at night and the front desk staff was amazing! Can't recall her name. Christina during check out was equally as amazing. Room was clean and well stocked. AC was definitely the main character and kept us cool in the Florida heat. Breakfast was fresh and good variety- eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls. Yes. Hot Cinnamon rolls. In the parking lot was also a great bar with food and music. Great location off the main road. Would definitely come back.
