Lovely facility and nice onsen I actually did t expect ( with literally the coldest cold plunge I have ever been in at 14° - awesome ). The staff were very friendly and both the GM and one of the staff encouraged me to backtrack my Shimanami Kaido route and go do the Yumeshima Kaido route of smaller less populated ( even more so ) islands you ferry to. Had it not been for their encouragement I would have skipped it. It was worth the backtracking and lovely.

While our stay was fantastic, we encountered a few challenges due to our visit on a Tuesday, when many local establishments were closed. To enhance future guests' experiences, it would be beneficial for the hotel to offer on-site dining or snack options to accommodate those who may not have brought their meals. Additionally, having a few essential pharmacy items available would be a thoughtful touch for travelers. The dinner we enjoyed was exquisite, and the food truly impressed us! However, to elevate the dining experience further, it would be wonderful if the chef could engage with guests, perhaps by preparing some dishes in front of us or providing a more intimate Omakase-style interaction. This personal touch would surely leave a lasting impression. Overall, we had a lovely stay and appreciate all the hard work the staff puts in to create a welcoming environment. We look forward to returning and experiencing even more of what the hotel has to offer!

Azumi Setoda is an exquisite property - one of those special, magical places you feel grateful to call home for a few days. Toshi, the general manager, and her team go to remarkable lengths to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The room is nothing short of spectacular - an incredible, comfortable bed, luxurious wood soaking tub, a lovely balcony to enjoy fresh air, and a stocked mini fridge where everything is included. We loved the Japanese breakfast every morning and had an incredible dinner our last night. While this is a luxury property, we felt comfortable and able to relax and being ourselves. The location is terrible, a 2 minute walk to the port and the beatitude seaside, and just one block from Setoda’s main shopping street. Oh! And then there’s access to the beautiful bath across the street where we enjoyed soaks every morning and evening and had terrific massages. We cannot wait to return.

Our stay at the hotel was exceptional. We enjoyed every moment—from the staff, the ambiance, the room, and the place as a whole. A special mention goes to the dinner we had at the hotel, prepared by Chef Kenya Akita, who undoubtedly deserves three Michelin stars. Chef Akita, a Japanese culinary artist, trained for 13 years in France at a Michelin-starred restaurant before returning to Japan to adapt his extensive culinary expertise to the local cuisine. Every dish was outstanding, both in terms of flavors and aesthetic presentation. The meal was simply extraordinary. Don’t miss it!

Room was exceptionally comfortable, the host speaks good English. A bit pricey, if possible, I prefer to dine out.
