Rooms a little outdated

Nothing wrong, but not a posh place if that's what you're looking for.

Excellent staff and service. Great location

We had two rooms for a family of 4 0- we probably could have gotten by with one room to be honest. Rooms were large and comfortable. Excellent beds and showers. Location made it easy for walking around and exploring Orvieto. The breakfast provided many choices and hotel hosts were friendly and provided local recommendations. Nothing I can think of.

Excellent hotel. Large rooms. Refreshing luxury especially after few nights in awkward ABBs. Parking nearby. Quiet area. Short stroll to Cathedral and several other charming piazzas. The staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast top notch. Many restaurants and shops just few steps away. Nothing

We were allocated a room with a generous terrace giving amazing views of the surrounding countryside. This really made our stay memorable as we did not expect this. The hotel location is excellent. The interiors may be a bit dated, but everything was very clean and all the staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. Would recommend for the location and the rooms with views. Breakfast could be improved. Plenty of sweet items but savoury items in short supply.

Great location, possibility of parking, friendly staff The staff is not sufficient enough, there were only 3 people taking care of breakfast, which was scarce, messy and late. Overall the hotel is old and worn out, doesn't feel very clean.

Room wasn’t very clean

Breakfast. Not very varied, but good, and you can have lunch in one of the many restaurants nearby. Shower cabin. I like that the glass door closes completely. Nothing

The breakfast was amazing. We were offered cappucino, plus there was strong excellent coffee where we could serve ourselves. Excellent juices and fruit. Plus a couple of hot items, which may change. Ours were scrambled eggs and american-style bacon. Plus wonderful fresh sweet and savory croissants. Our room (405) was large but the pillows were large and very firm. We asked for soft pillows but none were available. The A/C worked well. The electricity outlets were not convenient. They were under a table so we had to use our phone flashlights to see how to fit our adapters and converters. Would be nice to have an outlet that is table-height. Hard pillows. One guy at the front desk was older and not very helpful. He didn't have a TV channel guide and didn't know which channels might have sports. With 100 channels, it was VERY slow to determine that channel 64 was the Suoer Tennis Channel. The TV was small and hard to see from the beds. Another younger guy was very helpful with recommending restaurants and sightseeing tips.

Great staff.

Grand Hotel Italia, Room 504 was lovely, with a comfy bed, a large terrace with table and chairs, a city view, and very close to the center of Orvieto. We also had slippers and robes. AND the breakfast was delightful with helpful, gracious, hotel staff. Not a thing!

We stayed for one night & found Orvieto utterly charming. The view from the Hotels 5th floor is incredible, and the marble staircase leading up to the rooms is beautiful. Our room (5th floor), bed along with the bathroom was spacious & comfortable. The hotel has a classic italian grand house area by the reception, well maintained & impressive on entrance. The hotel itself is well located just a side street away from the busier area, very peaceful. The server at breakfast was the friendliest person we met at the hotel, welcoming & attentive. The reception staff were efficient but not exactly friendly or welcoming. No lift to the 5th floor & on leaving the lift entrance was blocked by cleaning equipment. We found a significant amount of dried bird mess on the outdoor seating on the balcony which we had to clean as we didn't want to complain & then wait for a cleaner. The shower has no tray to store shampoo etc. No shampoo was left for us to use only shower gel. Some scuffing to the walls which made the room feel shabby. Breakfast overall was ok, the hot food wasn't great. No wi-fi on the 5th floor which is unacceptable. For the money paid for a superior room, we expected more but for one night, the view made up for these issues.
