Biwako Hotel

I consider myself lucky to have found Biwako Hotel: -A very decent hotel with good facilities: spacious room with all needed supplies. A good balcony with a fantastic view of the lake! I also enjoyed the hot bath place and the restaurants.how ideal for relaxation! -Very reasonably price. -The service team is excellent, and they tried their best to assist me. -It’s convenient to Kyoto, yet it’s in such a serenity. Also comparatively closer to Miho Museum(50 m by car). I’d like to come again! Not really, yet, I wish there could be a gym.

For a four star hotel, room should have been spotless (it wasn’t). Pool is closed during winter time, which was not communicated from the onset. Club package is a nice add-on, but overpriced for what it was in the end.

The location was fantastic. Beautiful view of the lake a far away from the mad crowds of Kyoto. The staff and the service was unbelievable for the price by far the best accommodation hotel service we experienced in Japan

Location and the views were lovely. Large spacious room. Breakfast was very good. Breakfast area was a bit busy. But good food.

We stayed for one night before returning our rented car to Kyoto. Arrived late but one of the restaurants was still open to serve us dinner. Onsen is open till mid night so this wax also nice. We enjoyed our comfortable stay There was a lady at the Onsen who yelled at my younger daughter

Beautiful views. Cost and lack of activities.

The hotel is facing the lake and has such an amazing view and such a quiet territory. I had the best few days and a very good night sleep. I hope they can provide a private Onsen service in the future.

TV is a bit small and outdated when compared to the room size

No eateries near the hotel unless you drive, so you are forced to eat in the hotel.

The check-in procedure wasn't well executed. I arrived early that day and I was totally fine not having early check-in (as in most cases of Japanese hotels), the morning check-in involved a lot of signing of documents and payment card processing. And so I believed the check-in was completed and I would get the key card promptly in the afternoon. When I returned in the afternoon, there was still much to be processed for check-in and it felt like a fresh check-in procedure. It was very frustrating to have wasted the morning time doing the check-in.

Clean and comfortable room in great location.

The clean facility and friendly staff. The inside of the facility is hot. I mean the air conditioner is weak. It's very hot here in Japan rn so we wanted to have a cool place to stay in but unfortunately the room didn't satisfy us.

From the free shuttle from the train station to the last bow by the lobby concierge in front of the hotel, our stay at Biwako Hotel was beautiful, luxurious, and magical. Service is world class. The property is gorgeous. The location is outstanding. The food is excellent and memorable. The Biwako Hotel is apparently a popular location for wedding parties and is indeed as romantic as a hotel can get. There is a rooftop pool and observation deck where we watched the lighted fountain show (every evening at 7pm). Special mention to the gift shop staff who were especially helpful and friendly. We chose to splash out a bit on the room and got one of their 40² meter apartments with balcony. Wonderful, luxuriant, comfortable. Cannot think of anything at all.
