The Hidden Village Khao Yai

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Upper Pavilion at The Hidden Village. Having now experienced four different room types at the property, we found this one to be the best overall. The spacious interior, elevated position, and pleasant outlook created a greater sense of openness and comfort than the other rooms in which we have stayed. The pavilion was clean, quiet, and well maintained, with a reasonable level of privacy from the surrounding villas. The mature trees, birds, and hillside setting give the property a peaceful character that feels far removed from the busier areas of Khao Yai. Breakfast was included, generously customized to suit our nutritional preferences, and delivered directly to the room. This allowed us to enjoy a healthy, relaxed morning without needing to visit a restaurant or common area. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay: consistently courteous, attentive, and discreet. We could not have wished for better service. Thank you. The Hidden Village is particularly well suited to guests who value privacy, generous living space, natural surroundings, and a calm atmosphere rather than the facilities and constant activity of a conventional resort. The Upper Pavilion offered these qualities especially well and was our favorite of the four room types we have experienced. The property continues to improve with each stay, and there was very little we did not like. The main area that could be improved is the small fitness room. It would feel more useful and welcoming if it were equipped with higher-quality, name-brand commercial equipment, such as Cybex. At present, the machines and other equipment do not quite meet normal commercial gym standards, which makes the fitness area less appealing to use. However, this is a relatively minor issue, as it would not be reasonable to expect the gym at such a mountain boutique property, which excels in virtually every other way, to meet the standards of a dedicated fitness enthusiast like me.

We had a very enjoyable stay in the Lower Pavilion at The Hidden Village. The room was exceptionally spacious, and we particularly liked the open layout and the peaceful view over the garden. The villas are positioned far enough apart to create a real sense of privacy, and the surrounding trees, birds, and hillside setting make the property feel removed from the busier parts of Khao Yai. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Breakfast was included and delivered directly to the room, which suited the quiet atmosphere and allowed us to enjoy the morning at our own pace. The staff were courteous and attentive without being intrusive. This is not a crowded resort filled with constant activity. Its appeal is the opposite: generous space, natural surroundings, privacy, and a very restful atmosphere. The location is also convenient for exploring the Khao Yai area. The main weakness for us was breakfast. The menu is heavily weighted toward refined carbohydrates and added sugar, including white bread, pancakes, sweetened yogurt, sugary sauces, and sweet dressings. More unsweetened choices, quality protein, fresh vegetables, and healthy fats would fit the resort’s peaceful, natural setting much better.

The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable! Happy that we stayed here! These are small things - The water took quite a while to heat up. It would also be nice if there was at least a way to use the internet on the TV. A smart device was brought to the room so that we could use Netflix, which was nice, but each time we left the room, we would need staff to come with a keyboard to log back into the wifi.

The Hidden Village, Khao Yai is an excellent choice for travelers like us who value a lot of space, privacy, and a genuinely calm, quiet environment. Set on a quiet hillside, the resort offers well-separated villas that feel private and unhurried, surrounded by natural greenery and the sounds of birds that defines the Khao Yai experience. The accommodations are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, emphasizing everyday comfort and tranquility over unnecessary luxury. Service is polite and discreet, a included in-room breakfast, allowing guests to relax without interruption, which fits the atmosphere perfectly. Rather than competing as a busy full-service resort, The Hidden Village succeeds by doing one thing very well: providing a peaceful, well-maintained retreat that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy the setting, in a great location. The Hidden Village, Khao Yai has very few downsides for us, but two areas stood out. The beds are firmer than we prefer, and adding a simple mattress topper would noticeably improve sleeping comfort. Breakfast was the bigger mismatch with the otherwise tranquil, health-oriented setting. The menu leans heavily toward carbohydrates and sweet sauces—white breads, pancakes, sugary yogurts, and sweet dressings—making it difficult to assemble what we would consider a genuinely healthy breakfast. Even when requesting sugary sauces on the side, the overall emphasis remained carb- and sugar-heavy. A shift toward cleaner protein options and healthy fats would align much better with the calm, natural environment the resort does so well.

The stuff

Very nice bungalow and the pool area and garden were really pleasant. Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff. The location was also excellent - very close to the entrance gate of the National Park. A number of restaurants, cafes and services (ATM, Convenience Store, Pharmacy) in walking distance. While the breakfast was generous, some items had been prepared the previous day and no longer tasted fresh. The hotel should also ensure the flood lights in the pool area get switched off by 10PM or 11PM and they should remind guests to be considerate and keep noise levels down after that time.

The accomadation and hospitality of staff was fantastic. Great location to unwind.

The breakfast needs more options

This resort was truly amazing. We stayed at the vila in front of the mountains with private pool and this was one of the best places I ever been at. Everything was perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort is 7 minutes drive from Kaoh Yai entrance, very good location. No restaurant in the resort (it is under construction). The breakfast was delivered to room which is pretty convenient, but changes that we asked in breakfast were not implemented. We received same breakfast everyday regardless the changes we requested day before.

really cozy nothing

An amazing example of why Thailand became world's top tourist destination. One has to see the effort and amount of attention to detail it took to create this resort. It is just stunning... Rooms with terraces on two different sides, bathtubs for two, lighting, amenities... and then you step outside to incredible landscaping and see all the love poured into this place. Everyone should spend a nigh here,t at least once... I'm definitely coming back. Breakfast is served in the room and this is really beautiful but food could be kept warmer in a better way.
