Grand Hotel et Des Palmes

The salad at the restaunrant was nice.... I understand its an old building so appreciate that The breakfast was ok nothing too crazy but not bad.... The hotel is not in a nice location. The rooms are designed very poorly and the bathrooms are too small...There is nothing in this hotel that deserves 5 star. I was really shocked for what we have been charged and what we have got. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast plentiful and varied .staff very pleasant and helpful More counter space in bathroom . Location is ok . Area is in need of upkeep .Trash etc….but we never felt unsafe of course .

Steps from the tourist areas. Helpful staff, from check in/out to breakfast to late night bar! Comfy rooms- best shower, lovely toiletries, heated towels, even the toilet paper smelled amazing! Terrific gym!

From the moment we arrived, every staff person was professional and pleasant and efficient (especially Pietro for our evening cocktails!). In addition, the hotel was immaculate and beautiful and one of the most relaxing ambiances I've experienced. Hint: The off season is a wonderful time to visit! We went in February!

The location is close and within comfortable walking distance to almost everything you need to see and do. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast is simply stunning in a dining room that takes your breath away. Nothing

The hotel has a really good kitchen. Though the restaurant is quite formal, we had some of the best food we ate in Palermo here, including a memorable risotto and a fantastic fish soup. The staff were very flexible if we just wanted a snack in the bar too. The bartender mixes a mean martini and the wine list is good. There is no separation of function between reception and concierge, which makes for really easy communication. The staff here and in the restaurant and bar were universally charming. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most things one might want to see - a major advantage, given Palermo's infamous traffic. There were no drawers in our (superior) room. Given we were staying for a week, this made managing small clothes a bit of a challenge. The lighting too, though very flexible, was a constant challenge to operate. (Aircon, on the other hand, was a doddle). The lighting over the mirror in the bathroom wasn't great for shaving: the lit circle which was supposed to facilitate this was in exactly the wrong place to be able to reach. These are very minor quibbles.

It was perfect in all details

Everything was exceptional and the staff from the front desk, to the breakfast room, dining area on the rooftop and the lovely cleaning ladies! Nothing!

Beautiful Belle Epoque charm in a stately package. Elegant! Not close enough to the historic center.
