Mostly everything, my only small issue was the Riu Palace was under construction and close when all travel were reporting it was sold out which wasn't true As stated earlier, the Riu Palace next door was reported to be sold out but was really under construction by booking.com and other sights we looked at ... that was one of deciding factors in booking trip

sheets were not clean, soundproofing in the room is not good, the room was not as booked (we were moved to a correct one after the first night)

The food was really good. The staff members were kind and entertaining. The property is under construction, and there was false advertisement regarding the parties. There was no themed parties that were advertised due to construction. It was noisy.

The cleanliness, the staff, the overall experience was amazing nothing

Arrived room was not cleaned. Facilities are outdated for the amount of money spent on this location. Will not stay here again. Outdated for the price paid and nit cleaned. Shower had black mold and smelled of sewage every morning

I love the ocean view and the easy access to the beach. I like they had a casino and a variety of restaurants to choose from if you did not want the buffet . I also liked the fact that I can rent Water sports on the beach. My room was not clean. I stepped on a clipped toenail immediately upon check-in. I had to wipe down the light switch switches in door handles because there were smudges and dirt on them. The mirror had smudges and fingerprints. The curtains had stains on it. Room service was not 24 hours a day as stated. I had a day where I was told it was unavailable at 11:40 at night. The blanket I requested came up, smelling like cigarettes and it was dirty so I didn’t use it. It took three calls to get a new one the next day and it seemed anytime I had something to say I was dismissed. One of the room service women was not very nice to me, though. I was being polite to her during an interaction. I really wish there was a bar and food available for us on the beach that we didn’t have to go all the way back inside or to the outdoor Food area. The key cards didn’t work multiple times during the trip.

Great hotel and perfect location. First of all we get there and we get two twin beds. Not a great start. Then the only other complaint is that they have a steak restaurant that everyone wants to go to. You have to get in line 45 minutes before they open to get a table that night. We were not going to stop having fun to stand in line to maybe eat at this restaurant. They should allow each room one night reservation then have it first come first serve.

Beautiful and well kept The staff!

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It made the stay very pleasant. Nothing as such but would be nice if they would let the guests know about each nights entertainment

Check-in is at 3 yet the restaurants close around 4 so if you're on a flight all day and then get to the hotel you have to wait until 6:30 for a meal and the restaurants turn you away even if tables are open. I was told no reservations needed but when I got there and obviously tables were empty, I was told a couple times they were full for the night. It would be nice if the bars had appetizers not just drinks and the room service menu is horrible - not enough options Capping the thermostat where it only goes to a certain temp is also unacceptable especially for women of a certain age...we tend to get hot over night

Location I wanted to stay at the Palace

  • Engine customer May 2026

The property was located in a prime location . The staff was excellent from , Mr. Roka, Mona, and two of the main dining staff hostesses made our stay wonderful when dining. I requested a handicap accessible room and did not receive what, I requested. The room that I was given the door was not really secured like it should have been. You could tell by the wood frame that the door was repaired from someone kicking in the door. Then, the television connection was out of service most o f the days we were there. I requested a shower chair and they did not have any in the whole facility. I thought that all customers that are in wheelchairs and have ambulatory issues and devices should be designated to lower floors in case of a fire. The air conditioning wasn’t working properly and the 15th floor had a mildew smell also. This was my week of vacation.

Everything was very easy to navigate and laid out very well. Guests getting up and trying to save multiple palapas before the allotted time allowed. Also, if you wanted to eat at the steakhouse restaurant, you had to stand in line an hour before it even opened if you wanted to eat there that evening.

I have been to 8 different Riu resorts and this resort was the most expensive and yet the room was horrible, bad mirror ,horrible shower head. Room definitely needed to be upgraded ,connecting balcony vs partial balcony ...as a black man im used to being ignored however the service was bad I found myself either waiting at the bar a little extra while I watch white people just walk up and get attended to. Had to bring up 5 times to many about why No one has ask if I had a drink or was I served . Overall for 5200$ my expectations may have been high.

The property had a few nice aspects. I liked the pool it was clean and a good place to relax. The beach was also nice, and the scenery overall was beautiful. The drinks were decent and refreshing. While there were some things I appreciated, my overall experience didn’t quite meet expectations. There were several issues that really impacted my stay. It seemed like you need to be part of an “elite club” to receive proper service—otherwise, room service only offered cold food, which was very disappointing. Many of the dining options closed early, and at one point we went to the buffet at 11:00 AM and were denied service. The way it was handled was especially unprofessional, as the staff member simply put her hand up and said “no.” I also wasn’t able to connect to Wi-Fi for the entire trip, which was frustrating. When I tried to formally address these concerns, the manager, Gomez, handled the situation poorly and even hung up the phone during the conversation. On top of that, the food we were served was cold and not enjoyable. They didn’t even have food available for the snack bar. How can that be? Considering the price paid, it was frustrating that so many options were either unavailable, required reservations, or were restricted to elite club members—none of which was clearly explained at check-in. This lack of transparency and accessibility made the overall experience unpleasant and is something that should be reflected in the pricing and clearly communicated to guests.

All inclusive. Food was fantastic. Staff was attentive to all details. The views especially the sunset was amazing (even better than on the sunset cruise we took) We had to call the local jeep company to confirm our reservation. It was a 1 minute local call (assumed there would be no charge for local calls). We were charged $9 for the call. Also the $590 property credit is coupons for $10 off 100 at the spa or $200 your wedding reception, very misleading. Also the 4 elevators for the 13 floors of guests were frequently broken down, we spent a lot of time waiting for elevators.
