Absolutely fantastic weekend, staff were so helpful and welcoming.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location was in easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants, the hotel was immaculate and ground beautifully manicured, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind and the breakfasts were outstanding. A must stay for those looking for a private location within walking distance to downtown.

We had the best experience. The entire place is beautiful and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the food is excellent. Everything was perfect. It is in a great location very close to all the shops and restaurants, and yet so peaceful and quiet.

PROS: super delicious, sumptuous breakfast. The pool was refreshing and in a very relaxing setting. I floated looking at the palm trees and puffy clouds above -- loved it. The property is elegantly appointed with antiques and decorated so beautifully that it transports you to the golden era when it was first built, 1925. The hotel is simply stunning. Don't forget to read about the history to find out which celebrities have stayed there. Also, walk up a path to sit at the spot which Albert Einstein used to go to. The location is ideal: just a few blocks from all the restaurants, shops, bars (we recommend LA BONITA's for happy hour food (Monday-Thursday, starting at 2pm). On Thursday night they had a street market with vendors selling art, jewelry and people singing and playing music. The purpose for our trip was to attend a concert at The Plaza Theater and we were able to comfortably walk to it. CONS: Minor. Our "Garden Room" had another guest above us and we could her him/her passing back and forth day and night. The room has a utility room where the water heater and other machines are located which make noise. Solution: provide a white noise machine which will camouflage the noise. We typically travel with a small white noise device, but we forgot to pack it.

The service, location and breakfast were fantastic. I will most definitely be coming back.

What I'd improve?: Our corner room was situated near the cleaning staff's washer/dryer, so their conversations were heard quite clearly in our room. There was no safe in our room. The ironing board was a mini table-top board, but no real table to place it on - I used the credenza underneath the TV which proved a bit tricky. The showerhead is a very large rain showerhead on the 9ft ceiling, so if you're looking to shower and not get your hair wet - it'll be tricky. While we understood this property to be adults only, there was a couple with a young child which proved to be a distraction - by which I mean that their room was directly on top of ours, so we heard running, stomping, jumping, etc.

This hotel is a hidden gem! It’s staff is welcoming, friendly, and professional. The room is exquisitely and clean. Stone was a wonderful host. Cook helped us with a brief tour. And the chef and edit staff were top notch.
