The hotel sits central to many shops and restaurants. We were walking distance to the Louvre and Notre Dame. The staff is exceptional.. Julian greeted us and made us feel welcome upon arrival. This hotel is a charm and gem of a find..

Perfect experience they offered us. We were surprisingly upgraded when we arrive. Our room was magnificient. The staff was always with a smiling face and welcoming attitude. We also enjoyed the farewell treats offered. The location was phenomenal. The room has an interesting layout with a separate toilet without sink and a spacious bathroom a closet in it. I’d definitely prefer a toilet with sink so you don’t have to trip between sections after bio break.

I liked the welcome from reception. The young girl there was friendly and warm. If she didn’t know something, she said she’d find out and let me know. I liked the breakfast, the comfortable elegant atmosphere. I had room 40 which required a tight descent and tight turn into my room- with my suitcase. I did not pay for the cheapest room.

Location

Location was perfect for St Germain restaurants . The metro was close by. The hotel is on a quiet side street just of Boulevard St Germain so for a busy location it was quiet Coffee machine in the room would be nice. The room was small but that was to be expected.

The general decor is nice. It appears to have been kept up to date. We stayed in the "Suite," which is an improper characterization. About 2/5 of the room is constrained by a slanting ceiling that prevents standing up. I feel like the usable space in the "Suite" may very well be equivalent to the usable space in a deluxe room. There are "cheats". The end of the sofa allows standing in the dormer, but you have to back out to go across the room. I could not get up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet without having to watch out for my head. I have stayed in suites in all classes of establishments, and this is NOT a suite. My wife and I had stayed here in the 1980s. She had gone to graduate school nearby. I thought it would be great to splurge on the "best" so that we would relive memories. This just shows you that you should let good memories sit and not disturb them. Instead of think sweet thought of way back when, my wife thinks I was taken advantage of. I left Paris after 4 days to return to NYC (we paid for early checkin on the first day9, and when I did, my wife checked out and found another hotel for the remainder of her stay. She did not even try to find a more modest room. That about says it all.
