the reception area it’s great to hang out, the beds are okay and the curtains give some privacy which is valuable in a hostel bathrooms are not clean, the smell in the showers is gross

Its too close to the trainstation, from the window we could see and hear the passangers and the first train always woke me up.

Yo tenía un concierto cerca del estadio de Francia, su ubicación es perfecta y a un buen precio

One night I arrived at 2am,I was so thirsty and the vending machine doesn't have any water. The reception was already close and the staff was cleaning. I ask them where can I buy water. And they offered me a huge glass of water.? The charging port on my bed doesn't work.

Hmm maybe the room needed a bit of more ventilation. Only one window was open. There was another one, but seemed sealed. Also the frames on the upper-deck bed, though having good support, were almost half-enclosed. Even so, the conditions of this room could be more suitable for winter time than for summer time.

Close to supermarket and pharmacy. Nice construction. Elevators. Breakfast was good. No air conditioning or ventilator during a critical hot spell (105 F, 40 C) was unbearable.

Location, view from the window, breakfast was quite good, nice reception part and the down bunk bed with locker Oilcloth bed what keeps me sweating because it was 38 when I was there. So I couldn’t sleep because of the heat and plastic cover on the bed and sheet that was moving around. There was no AC (!). The window was opened all the time, there was no curtain on the window and the one I had on my bed was to short so I couldn’t cover my bed from window and in the morning the sun was shining in my ease and I couldn’t sleep. There was no electric socket in the bathroom (!) first time I saw. The bathroom was very small. The curtain under one of the showers was smelly.

    Everything

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The noise, the rude cleaning staff, how far it is, how dirty the bathrooms are, how expensive it is to pay for a towel, how there are no rules for people to not eat hot meals in the bedrooms, the top bunk bed feels like a coffin, no fans in the bedrooms, just hell

The UCPA Sport Station Hostel was one of the biggest surprises of my time in Paris. It strikes a rare balance between being affordable, modern, and genuinely social without feeling like a party hostel. The rooms were comfortable, the beds had thoughtful touches like privacy features and charging ports, and the whole place felt designed for travelers rather than just somewhere to sleep. What really sets it apart is the massive sports complex attached to the hostel—climbing walls, fitness facilities, padel, squash, badminton, and plenty of space to stay active after a day exploring the city. Hostel guests can also access many of the sports facilities at a special rate. While I really enjoyed the hostel itself, the biggest downside was its location. It’s in the 19th arrondissement, which is well outside the central tourist areas. Although it’s right next to Rosa Parks station and public transport is convenient, it still meant spending a fair amount of time commuting whenever I wanted to see the sights of Paris. The immediate neighborhood also lacks the charm many people picture when they think of Paris. Instead of cafés spilling onto picturesque streets or grand boulevards, the area feels more modern, commercial, and a bit sterile. Walking around at night wasn’t particularly inviting, and while I never had any major issues, it didn’t have the same lively, relaxed atmosphere as neighborhoods like Le Marais, Saint-Germain, or the Latin Quarter. If your priority is an affordable, modern hostel with excellent facilities, the UCPA Sport Station is a great option. But if you’re visiting Paris for the quintessential Parisian experience—wandering beautiful streets, stumbling across cafés, and having iconic landmarks just outside your door—the location is probably its biggest compromise.

At the bar there was free , fresh water at all times. 2 minutes from the train station, which takes you to the center fast. Good communication by the staff. First of all, late check in time, I was more or less informed but it doesn’t make it less inconvenient. Secondly , no AC in rooms, you just hope the person who is sleeping by the window keeps it open, or you drown in your sweat. I was by the window thankfully and I kept it open for the others as well, but without AC it’s bad as the hostel is located right next to the train station , and the noise makes it impossible to sleep. The bathrooms are so dirty, sometimes it’s the people who are staying in the hostel at well who are not used to live like normal human beings that make it worse. Not even trying to flush the toilet after having the smelliest bowel movement. Also someone had blocked the sinks with hair and other body fluids, when he could easily get that done in the shower. The morning I was leaving , at 7-8 am there was a drilling noise right next or below my room, which makes this experience much more “pleasant”. And you have to buy a lock to keep your stuff safe.

No AC in room to hot

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

It was very well organized and the metro was right next to it The showers had a terrible smell and definitely you could see the mold everywhere

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

It was not in a great location. There is no ac so during the summer was brutally hot, but no hostel in Paris has ac. Also, most of the bathrooms were closed during the stay.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

There was not a lot of room in the showers to move around and dress and undress. Also, the top bunk was not that comfortable because it also felt squished. The lack of room in the shower stalls.

I was bitten by a bed bug inside the room
