OYO The Station Hotel Penrith

Excellent location, super lovely staff, pleasant enough breakfast. No soap in the bathroom in my room!

Comfortable bed. Cleanliness. Good breakfast. Pleasant, helpful staff. It was Friday night with a band in the pub. very noisy. People smoking at the main doorway, so smoke came into the pub, and even through to the dining area. The evening meal was very poor. Although clean, the room was shabby, the fixtures in the bathrooom were missing with plaster/marks' broken fittings on the wall where they had been, the shower head was unstable. Initially there was no remote for the tv, but it was discovered downstairs with no battery ( though this was quickly rectified), the cup on the room was cracked, the curtains were not fitted properly so let in light at the sides

Absolutely nothing ,stayed 2 hours and left the hotel ,cannot believe the high score this hotel has on booking.com Absolutely everything,outdated ,scruffy awful smell through the whole hotel ,bins overflowing outside and with the heat not smelling the best ,bathroom floor looks like it’s never been wash ,the only positive I can say is the bed did look clean and comfortable

The location is perfect .right across from.station and central to town... absolutely brilliant tine at this hotel .. lovely staff Everything was good .no issues

Value for money. The twin room was comfortable and had everything we needed for what we paid. Breakfast included was a great bonus. Set us up for the day. Staff were friendly enough, one barmaid was great. She tailored music and where we could be in the bar to match our needs and make us feel comfortable. She was very welcoming and accommodating. A few minor things could have been explained more, like when our room would have the towels and bedding changed etc or what we do with the key when leaving the hotel, for example. There was a smell on the staircase going from the bar to the rooms. It seemed to be a grease/ cooking oil smell from the kitchens below (perhaps). But overall really happy with our stay for the price we paid.

After spending a month in a tent in the wilds of Cumbria .................... This establishment has changed management and the breakfast was of excellent quality ; I hope they will be using the same of tea when I return in a few months time !!!! Shopping facility for travelling food and a good pub with beer garden providing covered sitting area within 2mins . This is the 'LAKES' ; rain is not unusual !!!!! ........heater control in the shower ; glad it was 'locked' on hot and not COLD !!!!! Mustn't complain ; stiff upper lip and all that !!!!

We didn't get chance to rate our stay as the hotel was not able to honour our booking with only 24hrs notice. Fortunately we were able to book an alternative hotel at short notice.
