Nothing. Where do I even begin?! There were so many issues…I’m shocked this place has so many good reviews. Don’t be fooled! This hotel is decrepit. It is INFESTED with bugs and generally filthy (there were hairs in my room from previous guests, the towels—all of them—are downright CRUSTY, the pool always has leaves and dirt in it, they try to mask the bad smell of the place with cleaning products but it reveals itself pretty quickly, etc). The first room they put me in had a broken AC, and while they were very nice about putting me in a different room, all of the ACs are ancient/barely functioning. When you enter the room there is a list of rules not previously disclosed, including “no visitors” and “towels are not to leave the room.” Ummmm you have a pool and are five minutes from a beach, and you’re disallowing guests from taking your awful towels out of the room?! And when you pay to use a space, you should be able to accept visitors into the space you have paid for. Beyond unreasonable. The shower was tiny, and it was hard to even get underneath the water flow because of where the faucet is. And the bathroom sink took FOREVER to drain…it was still full of water ten minutes after washing my hands or brushing my teeth. Never even used the pool because it was so gross. The electric kettle was full of condensation and smelled awful. Did I mention that the place is teeming with bugs?! I’ve spent way less money to stay at way nicer youth hostels. The sheet was way too small for the (very uncomfortable) bed, and there is some device in the room above the door with green lights that are always on, so the room doesn’t get completely dark at night. AND THE WORST PART was that when my room was cleaned, they didn’t lock the door behind them, so all of my belongings were left completely vulnerable for hours and hours while I was out sight-seeing. And not only were the towels crusty (literally crusty) but I had to argue with them for a second one. Just awful all around.

The were able to accommodate our family very quickly and the staff was very pleasant. Rooms are good for families and have basic necessities. The pool was fantastic as well as the lounge chair. The grounds were beautiful and nicely maintained. Location was amazing, close to the beach, restaurants, stores and bus stops. The rooms are a bit outdated. No facial tissue in the rooms. No coffee machines in the room or lobby, although you could buy it. No complimentary items for guests. Showers can create a bit of a mess as they don’t contain the water well. The water in the shower and sink is salty. Towels were rough but it’s to be expected with laundry that’s hung to dry. Staff were so kind but there could be a bit of a language barrier at times. No pool towels available for guests which is a bit hard for people traveling.

Place was lovely and in the best location. Bed was large and comfortable. Room a good size with a patio area. Staff were extremely helpful and there whenever you needed them. The bathroom was extremely small.

The facility is located in the heart of Perissa 5/10 min away on foot from the beach. The owners were very welcoming and gentle. The flat was comfortable and with a tiny balcony in the front which my wife and I used to have some drinks before dinner. Overall, absolutely recommended +++ Basically nothing

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. It is like a peaceful oasis within walking distance of several restaurants, and the beach, there is a grocery store right next door and a gorgeous bakery just a few mins walk away. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was really comfortable and clean and had everything we needed and the pool was lovely and the perfect size. I would highly recommend this hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back! Nothing!

The facilities were basic, but completely fair for the price. We were only really using the location as a base, but did sit around the pool for a few hours as well. Lots of pubs, restaurants and tours pickup locations in easy walking distance. The bathroom was definitely on the basic side, but appropriate for the price.

Place is well located in Perissa. Just a few minutes walk from the beach. Calm and peaceful environment.

Great location in Perissa. Our room was clean and spacious. The balcony was great and our bed was so comfortable! The hotel offered transport to/from the airport and port for a reasonable price. The pool area was lovely, had comfortable lounges and lots of them. Beers at the pool were a reasonable price too. As a family run business, everyone was so lovely and kind. The shower was not great, very small and you couldn’t move without bumping the shower curtain or tap. The wifi was also hit and miss.

The property has a lovely feel to it and is very nicely decorated around the pool area with lots of trees, plants and paintings. Philoxenia is run by a family who are very welcoming and extremely helpful. The location was very good for Perissa beach and also the bus stop to Fira and Oia. It is also next door to a shop whixh was perfect. Whilst the hotel was booked out it was not too busy and there was definitely no fighting for a sun bed! I would definitely stay here again. Typical for Greece but when using the shower the bathroom became very wet.
