Wolf totem is a super unique and awesome place to stay in Pisac. Ivan the owner has thought of everything to make the space enjoyable and to facilitate travelers making friends. The hostel is beautiful, the view is incredible, we really enjoyed the yoga room and sauna, and the dogs are lovely! Also delicious food served and strong wifi. Do make sure to pay attention to Ivan's house rules, sent before you arrive, and you will be fine. Otherwise, you are likely to be evicted, with gusto.

After spending a week in Cusco I needed something less busy, somewhere in the mountains I could relax and chill out. Wolf Totem has proved to be exactly that. The location is unreal (overlooking the Pisac ruins), staff and food are excellent, and the community of travelers have been fun to hangout with. It's a 15 min walk or 5 min taxi ride into town and they have everything you need.

Cool design. Lovely view. Friendly animals. Delicious meals. Exceptional homemade kombucha on tap. Lots of rules.

Everything was great

The views and calmness. It is for sure a bit of a physical effort to get up there but nothing crazy is you are used to hike /walk a lot. The host was very friendly all the time. He eent above the expected and we could have a great time there and in Pisac which is 5 minutes away by mototaxi or 20 minutes walking. Just a reminder that it is located by the beautiful mountains of Cusco. Therefore, be aware of running into some bugs which are normal in the area.

Very good set up, and bonus points for having dogs

Well, we arrived with a reservation... And the host thought we didn't, so he was upset after us... First contact was pretty stressful, I don't know what this was all about. But yeah, make a reservation, no walk-ins! You'll see a sign on the road anyway. Way too far from Pisac though, it costs money in taxi or asks you to do long walks. There's cheaper food in town. The way up to the hostel is challenging. Swimming pool water was cold.

This, I believe, was my favorite hostel I have ever stayed at. It has such a unique, funky vibe, and the host Ivan was kind and helpful. He gave us a free upgrade to our private room and we booked a second night at the same price. Every little detail of each room tells an interesting story. The pool room is lovely, and so are the other social spaces. The food was good too! Pisac is such a cool town to visit, and the nearby ruins are incredible.

Self-proclaimed controversial owner built the entire facilities himself, for a very rustic and unique experience. He explained how the wet sauna took 4 iterations before he was happy with the results, and it is indeed special. It's important for him that all guests show up at the common spaces at some point, either at dinner, sauna/pool, etc, rather than just looking to be in and out for the bed. He loves to share his strong opinions, either about the conformists who live in the area, regulations, technology, etc - may turn some people off, but he's aware of that and embraces it. He's truly a character, and very friendly guy, who clearly is mainly looking to make some friends while he's living off the edge of a mountain. I mention him a lot because he is one with his facilities. The views are truly epic, and the cats are adorable. Highly recommended for the fitting clientele.

Nice to walk around. Ivan offers a very good dinner.

One of the most unique places in Peru, great location and very quiet. The owner of the hotel Ivan made you feel at home, I will definitely come again

The decor, aesthetic, structure, sauna, location, calmness I think it's a good idea to make note of the big stair climb for those w health issues/disabilities

I had an amazing stay at wolf totem. I planed to stay for one night but ended up staying 5! The owner Ivan is has a huge heart and truly wants his guests to have a good experience. He is particular on the rules so be sure to read the hostel description before deciding to come and make sure this place is right for you. There is a yoga deck overlooking the mountains that I used every single morning to start my day, there is a little pool and he offers a sauna three times a week. The common spaces are nice to hang out. This is a super unique and special place to stay if you’re visiting Pisac. There is no shared kitchen here but there is breakfast and dinner you can order from the Hostel (a little more expensive). Across the street there are delicious empanadas and if you walk into town, you can find very affordable food! The Hostel is located about a 20 minute walk from the center of Pisac or you can take a Moto taxi for two or three soles! Ivan has lots of fun and interesting stories to tell and is very proud of the space he created. I would definitely recommend staying here for your time in Pisac.
