Staying at the Maverick was a mixed bag. It seems like it was designed for a younger crowd? The beds are low and one side is hard to access. The fire alarm went off at 4:15 one morning, forcing all the guests to leave their rooms and stand outside on the sidewalk while the fire dept checked it out. Then a longer wait was required for the host to show up and reset the alarms, which went off another 4 times after the building reopened. There is no staff onsite. Honestly, the best part of the stay was the cool water machine, which offers a variety of water options. This property was not a good value.

I stayed here back at the beginning of the year and absolutely loved it. I was nervous about the remote check-in, but the process worked seamlessly smoothly. The process was seamless and smooth this time until we opened up the door to our room. We got hit with the smell of cat urine, and then our toilet was broken. I immediately reported this upon arrival via the messaging system and was assured it would be addressed immediately. We were there on Thursday and we left on a Monday. None of those concerns were ever addressed. Even worse, during one of the nights at around 4AM a fire alarm went off. A FALSE fire alarm. Keep in mind that this is an unmanned building. There are no employees or management on site. Only guests sleeping in the building. When I spoke with the 911 operator, he assured me that the fire department had the ability to turn off the fire alarm. Nope. Firefighters told guests they did not have the ability and they left, leaving the alarm on. At some point, some random person pulls up leaves his car parked in the middle of the road, runs in, turns off the alarm, gets back in his car and leaves. Not much later the fire alarm starts again. Why? Other guests told us that someone showed up and started doing tests on the fire alarm. Folks this is between four and six in the morning. What is wrong with these people? On Sunday I was told someone was coming to fix the toilet on Monday, the day I left. I will NEVER stay at a Kasa property EVER AGAIN!!!!!!

The rooms are great and the hotel is fun and well situated. But, top tip: Never stay in a hotel with no staff. The fire alarm went off starting at 4am and the fire dept. couldn't find anyone to help fix it (there was no fire). It continued to ring, on and off, all night long. Similarly, there was no one readily available to remedy basic issues with the room. Never again.

Separately there were so many little things missing/not working like lobby coffee machine or in room amenities that it seems the company is not paying attention to details that impact guests’ experience. A piercing alarm went off building-wide at 4am ….some people stayed in rooms thinking it must be a false alarm because other stuff in their room was broken so they just ignored it. The rest of us were on the street for a nearly an hour as the fire dept came and went saying they couldn’t do anything to stop it. No one from the company spoke to all the people outside about what was safe or what was happening. Some of us got AI or generic text messages, which was just insulting. There was an elderly couple on the fifth floor that took the elevator down during the alarm because they couldn't manage the stairs. What if this had been a real emergency? A fire with smoke/carbon dioxide etc? Who would have identified where people are and gotten them out of the building? There was no one on site to help. Eventually someone stopped the alarm, we got back in and went back to sleep and then the alarm went off again several times before 6am. Messages to the hotel “staff” got generic responses about the importance of fire safety.

I don’t love walking through a restaurant every time I want to come or go. the hotel is spotless and well maintained. Would definitely come back.

Felt safe, extremely clean facility, high-quality toiletries, fluffy & absorbent towels, and sensible layout (space next to bed, electrical outlet next to bed, hooks near shower, hooks along walls).

    Awesome stay

The property is nice and the staff I encounter was helpful. The restaurant has good food and drinks. My problem was my air conditioner didn't work for 2 days and it was 79 degrees in my room. The last day I encountered someone downstairs at the desk who helped me and sent someone to fix the air conditioner. Besides that only bad thing is the parking. But I would definitely stay there again hopefully they will take care of my two days I was burning up in the room

Parking is kinda awkward — there are no nearby lots that let you park for more than 10 hours at a time, and while parking is free in front of the hotel from 6 pm to 8 am, that still means you have to wake up at 8 am to either move your car or pay for parking until 10 am, at which point you have to move your car anyway.
