Hotel Mariachi by Kavia 5th Av

Location I’m honestly a bit surprised by all the positive reviews of this hotel. The only genuinely positive aspect I can confirm is the location, it’s very close to the city center, right on the main street, which makes getting around convenient. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. If I had the choice again, I would not book this hotel. The beds were too short, and the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. There was constant noise until around 3 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. We also saw cockroaches running across the floor, which was very disturbing. The room had a strong smell of dampness, like mold and poorly maintained air conditioning. There is a swimming pool, but honestly, I wouldn’t dare to use it. The cleanliness of the bathroom also left a lot to be desired. Additionally, even though I had already paid all the taxes through Booking, I was asked to pay a fairly high amount in pesos on arrival for some kind of local or environmental tax, which I had not been informed about in advance. That was quite disappointing and felt misleading. Overall, aside from the location, this stay did not meet even basic expectations. Misleading pictures.

Great location across from a nice Bakery. Just off 5th Avenue. Easy walking to fundadores park. Nice little pool with comfortable seating. Older but well maintained. Friendly staff. Taxi was able to back up to hotel despite pedestrian only designation. Small but adequate outdoor space where smoking was allowed. They were unable to accommodate a first floor room on check-in which was an issue due to our Mobility requirements.

No breakfast Bathroom Was really basic

The place needs to be upgraded, shower doors were rusted and smell weird in the room, the furniture and everything inside the room looks very old?

Nothing not room for handicap people / not elevator, not pool , not ramp for handicap

Great location. Been to PDC multiple times, first time staying here. You will hear some music late into the night because of the clubs on 5th ave. I wish the fan worked so we could turn off the a/c times when it got cold. Wish the fan worked

The location is good. The staff is cooperative. Too much noise at night from outside music. I need drinking water and some basic kitchen utensils like microwaves etc.

The location. Way too noisy both from other guests and from the street.

Location was great. In the middle of 5th avenue but still quite enough, (except in the night when street artists were just blaring loud songs until 2 AM). Room itself was big with comfortable bed. There was a tv and safe box (I had to ask for the key though). Bathroom was decent (small sink and no hooks to hang stuff). The location is close to a small beach where you can see best sunsets in the city. There was no mini fridge and no drinking water provided. When I asked the guy at the reception, he said that I booked a king size room so no fridge, it comes with a double size. King size room is apparently inferior to double size (funny in my opinion).

Room was good. Everything worked well. The AC had a little issue but got fixed in no time. Friendly and helpful staff ? Location is perfect. Close to literally everything to walk. The lights could be warmer for the atmosphere.

It’s on a quiet street, near everything! Beautiful facility and grounds. Very well maintained. Rooms are basic and comfortable and CLEAN! I love this property! Nothing. It’s perfect

it was noisy at night as it’s on a busy street but the staff were very helpful and moved our room to a quieter location which was perfect

The location was excellent, very close to the beach. The accommodation was spacious and had a large balcony. The staff was very friendly, especially the cleaning lady, who was exceptionally kind. It needs renovation, the bathroom was old, the mattresses were dirty.

Good location When I checked out, no one was available to help me with my bag. It’s very heavy and I was on the second floor.

I’ve asked to change the room by the app and twice to the staff because of the street players playing loud music under our rooms Nothing was done Had to call to police to stop an illegal party with about 100 drunk people snoring cocaine outside our window for a concrete matter of health and safety The staff didn’t provide assistance I am waiting for answers on my refund request The property is not reflecting what is advertised on Booking Staff was not helpful Waiting for my refund Booking needs to take a serious position on this and proceed with refund or credit to be used for next stay
