Close to everything easy access to fifth Street would recommend It was pretty much what I paid for no complaints

The beds were really uncomfortable and rooms were small . The location doesnt seem like a safe to walk in the night.

The hotel was exactly what was needed for this trip. The location is convenient to 5th so we had plenty of food and shops available. The reviews mentioned street noise and while yes there is, that’s to be expected along a street in a neighborhood. The guests seem to think slamming their door is the only way for it to close, that was much more disturbing than street noise or the occasional dog bark, but that isn’t the hotels fault. That’s people being inconsiderate. The room was cleaned each day and they promptly addressed our two concerns (fridge didn’t work and shower didn’t drain) immediately. Neither was an inconvenience for us. The bed was comfortable and clean. The space was plenty large. The USVI has honor bars and honestly this hotel pool could benefit from that. We would have used it more if we had snack or drinks available. We did use the guest access to a local resort for day pass to the beach. It was $70 a person I believe. All food and drinks included.

We stayed in one of the upper floor rooms with a small balcony facing t he ocean. Everything was perfect. We have stayed here several times before. A 15 minute walk to a wonderful beach and many good restaurant options withing walking distance. nada

It is a very small hotel with very kind staff. There are nice bruch restaurants nearby and a nice public beach. The hotel is quite far away from the center of Playa del Carmen, around 25 min walking. The sound isolation is horrible, you hear absolutely everything: from phone talk in the room next to yours, to the truck passing by on the streets. And it is quite loud. The room is very basic, beside the bed, one chair and a table, there is nothing else. Not even a bottle of drinking water.

Huge comfy bed, great shower, nice little balcony. Coffee machine in the lobby was a nice bonus. Friendly staff at the front desk. Location is away from the main hussle and bustle and allowed us to see a slightly more authentic part of town. Lovely rooftop pool area. No complaints other than it’s a little more modern and therefore less characteristic than places I’d normally choose to stay. It doesn’t give the feel you’re in true mexico

Clean place at a reasonable price Elevator was broken during my stay

Balkon Hotel was really clean. Andre was extraordinary, he was extremely helpful and informative. We got a free access to Martina Beach. And got premium sun chair for free. And also Beach towels. So no sand for us! The Rooftop was incredible. LOVED STAYING THERE.

New building, new design, staffs are perfect. Elevator is working. :) I like this place. The hotel is so far from the center. You can walk from the hotel to the center in 30 minutes. If you have a car or motobike, no problem.Dog barking is annoying at night

Only thing I was disappointed in was the elevator Didn’t work. So, climbing up 4 floors was hard. my friend said it had been out the week before also.
-
The place is very simple, but clean and comfortable. The roof is cute and has a medium size pool with a view of the ocean. They also have a great coffee machine in the lobby. The elevator didn't work, but the hotel contacted us in advance to let us know so we could have cancelled the reservation, we chose not to do so.
-
Great staff, good location (quiet), beautiful rooftop with the pool. Our reservation was of 5 days, the lift never worked during our whole stayed.

Very clean, spacious room. Comfortable, big bed. Toiletries provided. Safe and hairdryer provided. Coffee service at reception. Lift was out of order, and we see this a lot in reviews. We felt it's a little bit far from the centre at night, however there are some good breakfast spots close by in the morning. Tv didn't work. No reserved parking, but one can park in one of the side roads.
