Numa Hotel Boutique

I made a reservation on booking.com but when I arrived they said they didn't have any rooms. When I tried to call in advance to confirm my reservation they didn't pick up your phone.

Extremely affordable, great location, spacious room, good A/C, rooftop, provided drinking water Bathroom smells like sewage, water pressure was bad, a little dirty, can hear everything happening outside

1 block off great beach.

Superb

The hosts were so nice and helpful. The rooms are no frills and very basic. Not much lights get into the rooms. The bathroom was a bit smelly

Exceptional

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with AC available. Drinking water was provided and it felt very safe and secure. Close proximity to walk to the beach.

Reception staffs are friendly though they don't speak English. We could communicate with google translate. However, cleaning is terrible. 1. The first room they offered didn't have any windows. 2. The second one smelled bad (the drainage smell is quite serious). Worst part was the dirty bedsheets with previous person's hairs. Only one normal towel was there, and half-full water bottle was standing on a shelf. 3. Reception is kind; though no one spoke English, they were willing to help. However, cleaning service was terrible even after complaints - the second day after room service, there was used toliet paper lying around on floor, which we even didn't trash! 4. There's zero soundproof. You'll hear all traffic/people. There's a diving school nearby. From 720 am, there'll be a guy clapping around to wake up people, then from 8 am, you'll hear gas cylinder loading sounds. Just forget about sleeping a bit longer in the morning. 5. The swimming pool area (or common area) isn't maintained. The trash bin was full, the water from air conditioner was dripping on the floor, dirts on the chairs and balcony side... 6. Speaking of swimming pool, it's not a swimming pool, it's a bath tub at the best. For three days staying, I've never seen anyone there.

Exceptional

The staff was very friendly. Great location, close to the beach, 5th Avenue and some great cafés and restaurants. Parking on the street directly in front of the hotel. Big comfortable bed. We booked a room wit balcony which was more expensive, but got a room with no balcony and window to the coridor (with curtains so no daylight in the room). After complaining we were told the coridor is the balcony (?), but got the difference between standard room and a room with balcony back. The bathroom was very stinky, looked like drain problems... compared to other hotels in a different locations in a high season the price was too high for this quality.

Nice staff. Provided water. Arty rooms. Overpriced for location. Neighborhood super quiet, unclear if safe at night. Partying going on till 2 am upstairs. Swimming pool like a bathtub. Rooms smell musty.

They were able to take us last minute when our other hotel let us down at almost midnight. The lady that greeted us was lovely and had no issues with the time we rocked up. Room was spacious and bed was huge. Would recommend

The location- right on a main road super easy to get downtown and also out of town. Staff - super friendly and helpful. They only speak Spanish so bring your Google translate if you don’t speak. The hotel is relatively new, and very pretty. A nice little dipping pool and showers and hangout area on the roof. Excellent excellent value! Recommend! Parking - there was lots of parking on the one way street in front of the hotel. We rented 2 rooms. One room had a dirty bed, and a bathroom with mouldy ceiling and not working toilet - BUT if you tell staff they will fix problems immediately! You can’t beat this value for Playa.
