El Taj Oceanfront & Beachside Condo Hotel

The hotel generally was unclean, smell all over except if you're in your room. Not really satisfy.

Everything. Staff very friendly and helpful. I liked everything about it

Housekeeping kept rooms very clean, property was nice- good location . The bell staff took some of our property. We were first placed in a penthouse room and after we started unpacking they informed us that hot tub did not work- we rushed to repack items and I accidentally left a pair of semi expensive shoes and a power charger in first room. The elevators did not work and we were on the 3 floor with 3 large suitcases. When I noticed my shoes and charger were missing a few days later- I was told they were not there- no one else had occupied that room so one of the 2 bell staff that assisted us obliviously took them. I tipped super well so was a little disappointed. The elevators in both buildings did not work consistently so take that into consideration before booking penthouse. Also ask if everything is working before taking room assignment.

It was our first time as a family staying in Play Del Carmen so I have nothing to compare. The location worked well for our needs. Walking distance to food, convenience store(s) and with the condo's added accommodations golf cart & bikes made getting around & to the public beach an ease. The beachside pool wasnt open and only opened the day we were leaving. Luckily they do have a very unique pool available that provides a very Bali experience. The other concern was the elevators not working. For us it wasnt bad we were only 1 floor from "ground" level and capable of making the climb. Just make sure to make accommodations if they're still not working

Amazing location I could walk everywhere! The sargasm on the ocean is strong over the summer but even with that I would choose to stay here it’s so nice

I liked everything

Great location with access to the beach and the main strip of Playa del Carmen,. Condo layout allowed us to cook our own meals. Comfortable bedding. Parking allowed us to do road trips and amusement parks, which were a highlight. Seemed to have the most exposure of anywhere we visited to the rotting seaweed smell during sargassum season. Had no soap for two days. Decor was quaint but a little dated.

Could not go on beach because of the seaweed. The restaurant had a smell because of the seaweed.

Could use more seating around the pools.

Loved the amenities, hot tub , washer & dryer was a plus . He has transportation in a golf cart to Mamitas Beach and chairs & umbrella was provided . The staff are friendly & helpful . The rooms are spacious and modern look . Didn’t like the location much for such a beautiful condo hotel . I will definitely recommend to my friends and come back next year . The location

Compared to resorts and Cancun hotels I really enjoyed having a condo fur my family of four. We had the luxury to have two rooms with comfy beds and big kitchen and big living area. It is close to beach so access was really easy. They have a small go cart that can take you to further beaches. The pool was really warm and clean. We got all the help we needed. Location is excellent and we did not take a taxi as the ADO bus station was so close. As the weather was hot we were able to retreat to the apartment and the pool to cool off. AC and fans were excellent. Excellent fur families with kids, so safe and practical to prep meals in the kitchen for them.

Great location, comfortable condo space, beautiful pools, it felt safe and quiet, beautiful beaches very close by Our only drawback was not having beach access right in front of the hotel.. but it was a great option for the staff to lend chairs and umbrellas and a golf cart ride to the beach!

The beds are comfortable The beach is not usable, it's too small, and a lot of the ships park there.

Convenient location, nice apartment with gorgeous pool Once we left “please clean” sign on but nobody came. Also, we were there during the carnival and the streets were closed so we couldn’t drive to the hotel to park the car, so we had to leave car on the street and pay for the parking. It would be nice to get a heads up from the staff about such things

Location. Cleanliness. Rooms are spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Rooms have blackout curtains and are very quiet. 2 large pools. I had a stroller and there is no elevator from the lobby to my floor. You have to make a long trip from the lobby to the garage to reach an elevator. I wish I had 2 keys to the condo, we only had 1.

Great location, quiet at night, beautiful common areas, much larger than a typical hotel room, friendly and helpful staff Blackout curtains would have been nice to keep early morning sunlight out if you want to sleep in. Shower heads had mineral deposits or salt corrosion from being on the ocean so they didn’t spray great. Food at the onsite restaurant is not very good but not a big deal because we enjoyed exploring the plethora of options around town

Close proximity to downtown, restaurants, beaches and port WiFi, tv’s didn’t work and front desk/ IT tech seemed a little annoyed when they had to come fix it.
