Quality Inn Portsmouth

The room itself was “generically” clean, but not clean once you spent a few minutes inside. Grease marks from food and fingerprints on the table in the room, trash between the bed and nightstand from the previous “guests”. It was very clear that it was a rush job. The bathtub did not drain well and would fill up to your ankles when taking a shower. The bathroom had no window or forced ventilation to pull moisture out when showering. The coffee pot in the room has clearly seen better days and was not well kept, so that was avoided. The hot tub was a nice idea and was enjoyed (but not well maintained). It was noticed after the jets were off that there was quite of bit of film on the interior walls of it, that clearly has been building for a little while and needed some scrubbing. The Good: Staff was friendly. The pool was well maintained and would make for good kid activities when weather prohibits being outside or at the end of the day. (Pool is a long narrow pool, with a 3ft shallow to a 5ft deep end). The pool design is nice when there aren’t many people there, but a few people make it “packed” very quickly. Breakfast included the nicest benefit for having a full family trip. It made it much easier to start the mornings without having to search for a restaurant or wait in tourist length lines. Overall: if you do not mind an outdated hotel, that needs modernization, this is not a bad place when trying to keep costs down.

Clean well maintained property, nice helpful staff, breakfast was decent with nice area to eat it in. Pool was freezing though but hot tub was nice.

This place was cleaner than the Hilton that we stayed in last month! The staff was very friendly and super helpful. The breakfast was hot plentiful and the staff kept up on the cleaning around the area and the rooms were spacious and clean!! I would definitely stay here again

Everything was great w exception to the pool area . It was dangerously slippery . Maybe some mats in the future !

The room was cozy but smelled like old cologne. Pool was cute even though small. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

El lugar muy sucio con telas de araña. Al otro día de llegar salimos temprano regresamos a la tarde 5 de la tarde o más , el cuarto nadie lo limpió nadie hizo las camas nadie sacó la basura. Un servicio terrible. No volveremos a ese lugar ni lo recomendaremos. Una deserción.

Surface clean throughout, and very friendly staff. Very helpful staff. Hot tub had very visible and very brown scum on top of thick white foam, and our room's carpet was very stained here and there. Some of the stains and wear made us pretty uncomfortable. Our room's smelled like damp mildew.

Free breakfast was great!

The hot tub could have been a degree or 2 hotter. My room was did not have a working vent in bathroom so it was stuffy and smelly, sticky bathroom floor and carpet. Also noted mold in corner of room by outside wall. We originally declined housekeeping for our second d a y, but requested it the morning of but it did not happen.

I stay here with my granddaughters 7 & 10 when visiting family. It makes our time together easy. Pool is great. Never crowded. Breakfast is convenient. Also the dining area can be used to sit and eat other times of the day. Grocery store within walking distance.

The room was pretty clean, although I did find things that were large enough to be seen by someone who was cleaning, but I didn’t get picked up. The rooms also smelled damp like the air-conditioning wasn’t removing the humidity out of the room. Everything felt rather wet as far as everything else, the pool was great. The staff is nice. The only big complaint I have is breakfast. I realize it’s complementary but for God sakes, change it up a little the same crap every single day eggs and sausage maybe use something else or some French toast and there once in a while or pancakes or some bacon an omelette but continuously scrambled eggs and sausage and your yogurts. Try picking something a little bit better than Activa maybe some Chobani people do like that better not just me overall people like that better and whoever’s working in the kitchen needs to keep up with things when they run out. The danish ran out. It took a while for it to come back and be replaced you had two people working they should’ve been able to replenish as it needed as for coffee I came down at 7:30 and one was already empty and the top one I had to reach high and I’m short so it made it a little difficult and I didn’t see anybody replenished that until almost a half an hour after I’ve been down there. The two people working in the kitchen was standing there yapping I shouldn’t have to tell people what to do if they’re doing their job they should do it right I waitress also. But it was Ok stay

Friendly and helpful staff, quiet but aging property.

We had children we brought to the Waterpark so the whole family enjoyed the pool at the inn.

The sink, toilet bowl and shower were surprisingly clean. Not the corners and floor in bathroom though. Found some black mold dots on top of the ceiling. Still, whoever cleaned the bathroom did a very good job. We have been travel a lot lately for kids sports meets and have been to many affordable hotels in NE states. This one is a clean one without weird odor. Room is not newly renovated so don’t expect too much. Not good enough for vacation but good for short stay. There is shampoo, conditioner and body soap bar and they don’t smell horrible. There is hair blower too, it won’t work as good as the one you have at home but better than nothing. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable so definitely get two beds room if you have 2 people don’t want to share bed. I tried to lay in the bed and it felt pretty comfortable but definitely on the softer side. Sheets and bedding smells clean. Our original booking with Best Western Hampton was overbooked so Expedia found this one for us as a compatible replacement, It took 1 hour 38 mins on the phone with customer service. We were all super tired when we got to the hotel. That might affect how we felt about it in some way.
