Super 8 by Wyndham Portsmouth - Norfolk

Upon arrival, nobody in the rental office to check in, waited about 10 minutes before somebody finally showed up. Had reservations, then they said I needed to pay a $50 room deposit. The room was OK, but the door frame had been previously forced and security might be an issue. There was one chair in the room, although there were 2 of us registered. No stopper in the bathtub, I am a shower person so the stopper was not a big issue for me. The shower water was barely luke-warm on 6ish Saturday morning, Sunday morning no hot water at all around 7 AM. Did not check out the "breakfast bar" (if there was one) as all I saw was a coffee/juice type machine, no place to sit to eat a breakfast, no table, no chairs, etc. The area was quite small, so I expect there would be very limited pre-packaged food if they even offered that. The entire facility looked run down and definitely needs a lot of makeover to make it presentable. When I checked out Sunday morning, I told them about no hot water both days and basically just got a shrug with no offer to try and make any adjustment to the room fee. I will NEVER stay at this place again and probably never at any Wyndham sponsored places. I expect to receive the "typical" canned response that we are sorry for any problems during our stay and they appreciate being made aware of any shortcomings. You know the typical responses they give for negative reviews...

There was water all over the floor in the first room they switched us rooms and there was a bug on the bed

Rooms were dirty never clean. Never gave me my deposit back towels were nasty floor was nasty are king room use to be the landry room it had 2 rooms one had pipes sticking out the wall the bathroom was so small you had to close the door to get into the shower we had a king room with only 2 pillows. Towels were baby towels and dirty the place needs an upgrade pool was open.

There were gnats in the room. Also the bedding had cigarette burns in it. There was a drunken fight outside at 3 am. The staff was helpful though.

En general fue una mala experiencia.

Bed was comfortable. Had a refrigerator. Television wasnt hooked up to cable. AC leaked water on to my shoes.

The size of the rooms The rooms were nasty, the microwave didn't work. The staff were rude. The rooms were to hot. There were burns in the covers. Children were running up and down outside of the rooms all night and unsupervised.

I will not recommend this place to anyone, and they shouldn't be in business. The rooms had cockroaches, and the bedding sheets were so dirty. I had to walk out of there with my family and get another hotel in the middle of the night.

No les recomiendo este hospedaje es Terrible nada de lo q está allí es lo que vende la concuerda con lo que se describe. Habitaciones sucias, te dan habitación de fumadores no hay forma de dormir hay,fui y hacía como entre me tuve q ir y lo más triste q me comuniqué con expedia y no hizo nada tuve q mudarme de hotel inmediatamente muy peligroso

We purposely chose this hotel because of the "free breakfast". All they had was juice and coffee. We spent the difference between what we would have spent on another local accommodation on grabbing a quick breakfast at the Wawa down the street. In the end, we're essentially out $60 due to not actually having a breakfast.

There was no breakfast, just coffee and juice and the pool had missing tiles. The room had peeling paint, smoke odor, rusted ac unit and potentially mold in the bathroom.

Honestly the worsehotel I’ve ever stayed in North America do not stay here.

Exceptional

Staff were nice and helpful, but the towels I were given were all dirty. I'd recommend staying at the quality inn next door.
