Super 8 by Wyndham Portsmouth - Norfolk

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a motel. The door to our room was stuck shut and the employee at the front desk was not helpful what so ever.. when we brought it to their attention they actually told my husband to just “force it open”.. leading to literally having to kick this door repeatedly. There was hair on the bathroom floor and bed, what looked like feces and urine stains on one of the mattresses, the AC blew outside instead of into the room.. I am still trying to figure that one out. I was semi impressed with the towel rack on the wall until we found out that it wasn’t even attached all the way. The pool had a chair for people with wheelchairs to be lowered into the water, however, the pool was so disgusting it looked more like a torture device than anything else. When I talked to the front desk they said that the manager was not in but we could possibly be offered another one, which I politely declined… I don’t think any of the other rooms could have been worst but I cringe at the idea of even finding out so instead I had to pay an additional $300 for a night at a different hotel. I did request a refund thru Expedia who informed that because of their strict policy we could not get a full refund… however I was offered $30 one key cash for the inconvenience, needless to say the lives of myself, my husband, my son and his two friends cost more than $30! I strongly recommend choosing your car over this place if it comes down to that

Whole thing was horrible, the first they gave me a non- clean room that I have several picture of with trash in the trash cans , dirty socks in the floors, I go back to talk to the manager and the manager says that he will go and talk to the cleaner. He takes 10 minutes to come back to tell me that the lady that was cleaner room will be done in 10 minutes, which I was upset because I got there at 4:30 was check-in was 3 PM and no rooms was ready but also I was attending a wedding so I was crunched on time to get back to the venue 10 minutes past, but I’m still dirty. Nasty housekeeper doesn’t speak English and the manager at this point I told him I wanted money back twice. So then he proceeds to say hey I got a bigger room shows me the room and it’s an OK room for one night stay but it was just horrible. It just holes in the floor. You had to walk into a different door to get into the room that we were Station at it was a lot. It’s hard to explain, but it is dirty and nasty never again.

Location is great! You are close to everything! However area is not family friendly, we came back from the wedding after 10pm and the amount of sketchy characters surrounding the hotel was ridiculous. Staff lock the door u have to speak thru a window. I arrived 11am, they do not offer early check-in. Wedding was at 1pm, had to change in a family member’s hotel! When I did return to the room staff told me he was cancelling my reservation because I wasn’t there by 5pm! We travelled from Colorado!!

Not a good experience. Not Clean and a smell. I founded out the hard way.

There is no breakfast. The place is SUPER dirty. The guy at the front desk sucks but the girl is get helpful. At least it's cheap and closer to things

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! AWFUL, NASTY, RUDE STAFF. Trash piled up outside stairwells. Pool closed without a closed sign......Per staff, water is unsafe after we had been in it for 30 minutes. Wolf Rats, People living full time in rooms. Very bad part of town. This place needs to SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!

No breakfast there at all despite it being listed. Morning checkout wasn't helpful. Room was dirty and blankets were paper-thin. The only good part was the person at nighttime checking was nice and answered any questions we had.

When we arrived and got to our room it smelled of cigarette smoke, marijuana and mildew. There was no comforter on the bed and two very sad looking balled up pillows. The shower did not work properly and the bathroom didn’t look like it was properly sanitized. The door to our room was very hard to open like it was stuck shut. The air conditioner did not want to stay on, looked at the plug and it was not flush to the wall so when you turned on the AC it would shut off. Mini fridge was sweating on the inside. Very sketchy people outside of the room under us at all hours and looked like two cars in the parking lot were broken into and had plastic over their windows! Left for a few hours to attend a concert near by and came back to a very thin blanket balled up on the corner of our bed, which kind of freaked us out. Pool has no water in it and is very small. Checked out the next morning. We could not continue our stay there because we did not feel safe!

Bad

The room was adequate. I was bookedfor three nights, but on the second night I was transferred to another room without my consent. Staff moved some of my property and apparently misplaced it. Management has not been responsive to my concerns. Not a pleasant experience.

Clean room

Awful.. AC didn't work at all, charged me an additional $3 amount to stay there after Expedia said the whole amount was paid, took 10 min to get anyone to check me in on the outside of a locked office.

Terrible no pasaria una noche mas en ese lugar hay muchas homeless next to the windows usando drogas el lugar es demasiado sucio y peligroso no hay mantenimiento fue una pesadilla ese lugar no deveria estar abierto

The room was pretty clean, but strongly smelled of cleaning chemicals lingering throughout the room the entire stay. So heads up to my fellow people with sinus issues. Upon staying for the night, It was loud! Most hotels/motels have quiet hours after a certain time but my neighbors (on all sides: To my left, my right, and below) were out all night being loud. So I was in and out of sleep that night. I recall being so tired when I was woken up that I decided to just go get breakfast at WaWa next door and checkout early. Was supposed to be a quiet solo night to study but will try a different location next time.
