The ceilings were a bit low making the space feel a bit crammed.

Location is across to Piazza Duomo.

Very friendly people with energy to serve their guests. Smiling and helpful. Thank you Gianni. If there is something, the manager would do anything to solve it.

The bed was not the best

The reception and breakfast staff at Hotel Giardino made my stay here. They are warm and helpful. They will make you multiple cappuccinos. It is a cozy family vibe. It's a lovely little hotel located near the cathedral square in Prato. It's conveniently located about a 5 minute walk from the Prato Porta Al Serraglio train station. There are frequent trains to Florence as well.

The staff is excellent. Breakfast is plentiful. The bread was fresh & the cappuccino was excellent. The location is perfect!!! Overall, it was a very good stay The hotel just needs a little facelift. Otherwise i love the historic feel to it.

Very tiny shower

the staff was extremely helpful, friendly and kind. the hotel is located in the old town so everything is accessible on foot. the building is old but very comfortable. there is a lot of parking available in the neighborhood but none on location.

Excellent location in centro storico. Easy to get to from Prato train station. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The pillows were flat and stiff (normal thing for Italy), but they did give me extra when I requested. The bed was very stiff with a spring mattress; okay for two nights but no more. Security was a little awkward- they ask you to leave your key at the front desk every time you leave, and you need to get buzzed in to enter the hotel. But there is always someone there to let you in. They also want to know when you plan to have breakfast (which was yogurt, pastries, coffee and cold cuts) so be prepared to plan for that. Overall pretty bare bones and quite dated but a fair price for what you get.

The location is in a cute building near the downtown square - we enjoyed how it was walkable to many different areas. The staff was friendly and caring as well. Breakfast looked 'ok' and the breakfast staff were nice and accommodating. This property very clearly has either not checked their facilities in a long time, or is deliberately not upgrading or maintaining the main amenities offered to their customers. Let's start with the bed. Imagine you're a hotel, you're offering a place to stay, specifically a place to sleep. You would think that the bed would be some sort of moderate-low end mattress, maybe save some cost, but still offer some sort of comfort. Wrong, this hotel offered basically a spring with a covering for a mattress. I would invite the owners/managers to spend a few nights in each room and tell us how their back feels after staying on these horrible beds. What's even more infuriating is that beds aren't even that expensive. We aren't asking them to renovate their rooms, but jeeze, spend a few hundred euros to get reasonable mattresses for each of the rooms. Next, the air conditioner, it's very clear this air conditioner was not up to the task to even keep the room cool because it is so old. Like 1980's old. Old AC is inefficient, again, a business decision by the owners to just not maintain and upgrade AC or replace when needed. I would invite the owners to pick a hot summer day, and stay in their room - and see how long it takes to basically never get cool/comfortable. The shower/tub has a poor design. It had a double foldable shower door with the showerhead mounted in such a funny way that the spray went directly on glass. What happens when you spray a shower door that folds with water? Well, it leaked water ALL OVER the bathroom. Basically flooding it. Again, the owners should use their showers and tell me that they enjoy it. I doubt it. A few other things like dated interior of the rooms kinda bothered us, be we will let it slide because it is pretty old hotel. The blanket was very thin and itchy, the pillows as flat as pancakes with no extras. I didn't want pancakes until breakfast...

Everything was fine. Excellent the position in the city centre and very close to the "Porta al Serraglio" train station, with excellent metropolitan, regional and even some long-distance connections. Very close to the university, just on the other side of the "Porta al Serraglio" train station. Excellent also for those who want to visit Florence. The hotel itself is very good, the room has everything you might want, good continental breakfast. Excellent staff! Hard to say. If I really must tell something, I can say that the shower in my room was a bit small, at least for me, and at breakfast I didn't find "my usual" scrambled eggs with bacon, but there were many other good things.

The location was very central and the staff were extremely kind and helpful The street where I was supposed to park was closed for works and I had to park further away (not the hotel's fault)

I LOVED everything about my stay at Giardino. Hotel is being around for years but is being renovated and thus is really comfortable. There is a spacious lift. The room I had was really spacious too and comfortable, have air conditioners and internet for free that work perfectly. Bed was comfy enough. Very clean. One of the best things is that the train station Porta al Serraglio is just a 4-5mins walk so getting to Florence was really easy. Staff was really friendly, always ready to help and even fix a breakfast in those days I had to leave before the breakfast time was open. Very good value for the money! Super recommended and if I was going to Florence again I would definitely stay there again. Nothing really

Family run hotel. Which is rare these days and a big plus in my eyes. The woman at the front desk was amazing. Very helpful and spoke excellent English. Everything was perfect.

Very good

Absolutely top notch hotel for the category. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Even parking our car for me around the corner after our long 6 hr drive to Prato. He suggested a nearby trattoria which proved to be excellent. We will definitely return to this hotel. Recommended heartily!

Superb

Very nice hotel in a great location on the main square of the old city center. Great staff and owners. Clean room with older furniture but in good condition. Good breakfast with great croissants. Room in the attic has very small shower, but for couple of days it is not a dealbreaker.
