Cataratas Jazz Hostel

They lost mi shoes, I had to leave the place without my shoes because I had bus tickets bougth. They didn't even try to find a solution, they just was trying to see their security cameras but they didn't resolve my problem, I am really disappointed

They didn't have the private room that I had booked, but the room we ended up in was nice and air conditioned

location: not too noisy, but not too far. parking in the street in front. very friendly staff. towel provided for free. airco in the dorms. the hostel is very basic, not too clean, though. doors don't shut properly, low water pressure, one shower even not working. small and a bit smelly. You get what you oay for, though.

Pros - location. It was walking distance to the bus station and to the main drag in the evenings. AC in my room worked well. Front desk was friendly on arrival, other staff not so much. Cons - very, very dirty. Everywhere. Room, bathroom, common areas - everything needed a good scrub. I understand it's a hostel and that it's in a humid area but there's just too much to mention about how it could be repaired properly and cleaned. Staff members smoked throughout the facility, even in the kitchen while cooking breakfast. Breakfast was fried bread and coffee. Kitchen was filthy. There was a bar but it never seemed to be open. Basically, I used it to sleep and nothing more There are other small hostels in the area so I would consider those before returning here. I've stayed at a lot of hostels lately and this was the worst.

Faucets didn't have a hot water option, so I couldn't shave and the shower didn't really get very warm either.

Inexpensive hostel near the central area. Perhaps a few more chairs, tables and hanging area in the sleeping area.

It’s a nice place to stay.

I liked that the room had a great AC unit, responsive, quiet. I liked that the room had ample outlets well positioned to charge everyone's phones. I liked that the staff changed the sheets every day. The room was clean and the bathroom was clean. Well located just a short walk from the main drag which was happening. The silverware was carelessly washed. The registration desk didn't receive my Booking dot com reservation so I had to pay the amount they charge at the desk which was more than through Booking dot com.

There was a friendly cat The place was dirty and even croc roaches can be find in the bathroom. Also the price wasn't respected but I noticed late after I paid so they say no return. The toall was a total mess turning into pieces, there was no soap or shampoo.

The staff and the vibe. The location was good. For the low price, the place was nice. Overall cleanliness. The breakfast included of coffee and bread with butter and jam and that’s it. It’s one big room with about 20 people but it’s organized in a nice way so it doesn’t feel like it.

The location and Wi-Fi were good. It was absolutely filthy! Toenails stuck to the bedsheets, mould on the curtains in the room. The bathroom was gross and seemed to only get dirtier by the hour. The breakfast was verrrry basic and food like jam and sugar were left out so ants were all over the place. The hygiene here is very poor.
