The location was very good Our "breakfast" was microwave heated coffee and old bread

The bed was comfortable and clean and I loved Elva who worked there -I didn’t get the room I reserved -The air conditioning didn’t get very cold -the fan was noisy -no light bulbs in the wall fixtures -no water pressure in the shower -no hot water -no variety at breakfast; some bread, fake orange juice, tea and coffee -I asked not to clean my room, but they entered anyway

The property is conveniently located within walking distance of the bus terminal (serving buses to Iguazu Falls and Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil) and the city center, where you'll find a variety of restaurants and shops. The breakfast is simple but satisfying. While the property could benefit from some updates, we did encounter a few minor issues. Upon arrival, our room lacked towels and toilet paper, but these were promptly provided upon request. Additionally, there was a slight water leak in the bathroom. Considering the overall experience, the current review score may seem a bit high by European standards.

We had a great stay at Hotel Tierra Colorada. It’s a modest place two blocks from the town’s main bus station and about an easy ten minute walk from the strip of restaurants and bars. The hosts are wonderful. They are very caring and go through great lengths to make sure you have what you need. The room is just fine. It’s a bit old but has everything you need for a comfortable stay: good hot water, good A/C, nice beds, with enough towels and linen. Breakfast is great and includes a variety of breads and coffee. The bus station is incredibly convenient, with buses going to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls every hour on the half hour between around 0830 and 1730 (5000 pesos round trip as of April 2024) and the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls every 20 minutes (6000 pesos round trip as of April 2024). Hourly buses also go from this bus station to the airport and buses go from here to Downtown Foz do Iguazu (Brazilian side) and Ciudad del Este in Paraguay. Buses from this station also go to several cities in Argentina including Buenos Aires (it’s several hours long bus ride but an alternative if you travel to Iguazu in one of the cheap airlines and then get stranded to go back…it happens frequently). There are also taxis ready to take you anywhere, at the bus station with printed fare lists. The bus station has lockers where you can store your bags (carry-on size), though you can also store them with the host at the hotel. There are several restaurants, shops, and a pharmacy next to the bus station. Exchanging money is also possible at the gas station across the street from the bus station but don’t expect a good rate. If you are wiring money to yourself via Western Union, there is one place toward the entrance to Puerto Iguazu rather far from the bus station. I have nothing negative, but will use this space to pass suggestions that could be helpful. Here is the deal about crossing the border between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. All buses (and I presume taxis) crossing the border stop at the Argentina border outbound. Everybody except local residents must get off the bus and go inside the immigration building to exit Argentina. Argentine authorities do not stamp passports, but scan them to keep electronic records of entrances and exits. After going through immigration to exit, you get back on the bus. The bus then drives a couple of kilometers through a “no man’s land” and then stops again at the entrance to Brazil. For those needing a visa to enter Brazil (including US citizens starting April 10 2024), you should tell the bus driver to stop at the Brazilian border so you can go through Brazil immigration and get a Brazilian stamp. You also need a stamp if you plan to stay in Brazil overnight or depart Brazil through another port of exit (I.e Foz do Iguazu Airport, Rio, São Paulo). Locals with local IDs don’t need to stop, so the burden is on you to tell the bus driver that you need to stop and go through either side of immigration. On the Argentine border there is a store that exchanges money and a large duty free store. Returning to Argentina from Brazil is a similar experience, but be prepared to wait in long lines to get through Argentine customs and immigration. The Brazil-Paraguay border at Iguazu is much easier to cross. It’s a bridge between Foz do Iguazu and Ciudad del Este. If possible, try to walk it. There is bumper to bumper traffic and there are some awesome views you can only see on the sidewalk. If you are just going to Ciudad del Este for the day and intend to come back through the same bridge, there is no need to go through Paraguayan immigration. But if you intend to leave Paraguay through another exit, you should get both a Brazilian exit stamp and a Paraguayan entry stamp.

Nice hotel, the host was friendly and nice. Hotel facilities need to renew and maintain air conditioning not cool enough, fan dodn't work, add some more cake or fruit for breakfast will be better.

A/C worked, easy walk to main part of local town center. Where to begin...what a disappointment. No English, seriously rundown street (abandoned ancient truck parked across from "hotel" entrance. No elevator. Breakfast was bread and coffee (one croissant pp), dispensing paddle on coffee urn was broken off. All bathroom fittings leaked, drains were badly clogged. Never had a bathroom that came with a floor squeegee to handle the flooding. We had standing water under our BED after a rain. Stairs were also flooded. A/C constantly made random loud clicking noises throughout the night. Had to ask for toilet paper. Ceiling fans & A/C in breakfast room and lobby didn't work. Worst pillow ever. Went to pay at checkout and told we had to pay in CASH ONLY. Don't trust the photos or reviews!!!

Strategic location. Close to Puerto Bus terminal. Less than 8 min slow walk with our trolley luggage. All the shops and restos were around this hotel. We bought our sim card at one of the kiosk at the bus station, very convenient. Peso$1800 with 2GB data n 30 days unlimited calls. Room was very old and furnitures, doors and toilet very worn out. Toilet was releasing foul smell. Our toilet ventilation window was an open hole that could be peeped into from outside, which is steps to go upstairs! We told the staff about it and they very quickly changed us to a bigger and better room.

The staff! Wonderful! Everyone is super nice! Nicholas helped me a lot about questions with my dog, he goes out of his way to help! Great guy!! I loved the pool and the location and best part super pet friendly! My dog loved it there! The rooms are simple which is fine and is OK clean
