Room was stinky and warm. Douche wasn’t great at all

Great location. Great staff. And the best value you can find

    Nature N/A

Awesome location, good parking and friendly guests. Canteen is a nice spot if you want to hang with your group. Toilet would get stuck repeatedly, smell near the room was bad at times and the fan is a bit too strong to sleep comfortably at night.

No A/C, poor water pressure in the shower, location far from the town and kitchen was bad equipped

  • Engine customer Dec 2025

We didn’t stay there as the room was FULL of ants.

The Location is absolutely perfect for its proximity to Cocles beach and "wildness" including several resident sloths and morning agouti (and sometimes monkey) visits. It's also a short walk to two large supermarkets or into P. Viejo. All staff members were friendly and helpful, the wifi worked well and the large open aired kitchen provided ample space for cooking and socializing (but lacked outlets - though there is another area with cushioned chairs/tables and many outlets). The filtered water system was adequate, though sometimes slow at providing sufficient water for everyone (although this tends to be an issue with any hostel I've visited - regardless of the type of filtration in place - so sometimes you just need to have your own bottled water or other solution). While the sloths eluded me during my stay at the hostel, I got a bonus sloth encounter just before my departure from P. Viejo on a final morning walk to Cocles - seeing two sloths in the tree by the hostel entrance! This was my first visit to this area in October, so I wasn't prepared for the extreme humidity - and its knock-on effects like damp clothing and moldy conditions. The dorms and related areas did not have a lot of sunlight, which made it difficult to dry anything like towels or yesterday's clothing. Perhaps some clothing lines could be placed in other parts of the property that receive more sunlight. Also, having netted windows and doors on the rooms would be a big step in improving light access and ventilation.

I wouldn’t recommend renting a bike from them, they gave me a bike that broke down past punta uva and I had to get help from a local to fix it to get back to the hostel

We had a family room with 2 full beds, mini fridge, AC, and hot water shower. If you are looking for a jungle bohemian feel than this is definitely the place. Our beds were soft mattresses on a plank style bedframe. I would recommend a solid flat surface for the mattresses they have.

Location and service, privacy and calm Need a little more lights around the gardens

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

Relly nice facilities, bathroom and kitchen Nothing

  • Engine customer May 2025

Location was great. Good value. Loved the animals on the property!!! Water in our room was not good. Water was on sometimes, off others. Pressure was irregular when there was water. And because of that, hot water was a rarity.

    Very nice staff!

Great accomodation, have everything you need. Staffs are just amazing, kind and very hard working. Location was not too far from the city and just opposite to the very nice beach. Nothing ?

  • Engine customer Mar 2025

    Great for family.

  • Engine customer Feb 2025

Location was generally quiet and very well located

Location. Lots of green within the compound and around. Located Between PV and Cocles beach. The kitchen had sharp knives and otherwise was well equipped. Mattresses and pillows were soft Kitties provide pest control. Sloths hang out in the trees and other wildlife wanders around. Leave a good rating and get a free beer! The electrical work on the showers looks a bit sketchy. Hot water for washing dishes would be cool. The bikes need maintenance and thereby are overpriced at 7$/day (i exchanged my bike twice, rusty chain fell off and tire deflated.) A few refinements would justify the cost. Leave a good rating and get a free beer!

Exceptional service from staff and an overall chill vibe. Highly recommend!

Wild nature behind the hostel. It's on the main road close walk to the beach. You can rent a bicycle for a low fare to get to town and other areas The restaurant, though owned and operated by same is treated as if it's a separate establishment. I was asked to leave where I was trying to sit by the waitress saying where I was sitting was against the law. There is no other area for hostel guests to sit unless you want to hangout in the kitchen in the back. Not so much a social area. The room had a strong cigarette stench. It was supposed to be the non-smoking room. This man, not the backpacker type accused me and the other woman staying in the room for stealing his weed and started threatening us. The owner took care of the situation by upgrading him to a private room. My bad experience shouldn't be taken as the usual vibe though. I'm sure it was one of those odd instances. But still, I wouldn't go there again.
