Breakfast was ok. The location was great. More options

My room, the food and drinks, the spa facilities, the beach. Staff. The shows at the Colonial at night. For my Birthday, they made a beautiful towel and flowers design on my bed, that made my day! Swimming pool water was too warm.

The beach shore should have need cleaned from algs every day.

My stay was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. The food was outstanding, with so many delicious options every day. The service was truly exceptional—every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. Everything was perfect!

The property was beautiful! And very well maintained and kept clean. P Not being able to get clear directions to a pharmacy. My friend needed hydrocortisone cream but one of the men at the front desk was able to facilitate us having some delivered from an outside pharmacy. Above and beyond.

The resort was beautiful! ? I loved that it was connected to other resorts within waking distance! ? The food and drinks were amazing! ? The service was top notch ? The hotel room was great! ?? I have a gf and we've been friends for 30 years and we decided to celebrate my birthday together and every time I mentioned to the front desk staff that this was my gf they insinuated we were in a romantic relationship ?

Very clean, food slightly above average for all inclusive, entertainment every night even if it wasn't a Riu party My wife and I are from Chicago and we're black I'm light skin but she's dark like Haitian or Jamaican the only time she was treated good was from Haitians especially the Haitian women staff members. The staff treated me like royalty because they assumed I was Dominican which I'm not I'm black and native but they ignored her and wouldn't speak even if she spoke first so I stopped tipping if they treated her wrong. This is my second time in the DR but my wife's first and will not be returning to the DR period because if they have a problem with my wife's skin color then you have a bigger problem with me, I will not go to another country and spend thousands just to be treated badly and looked down at. The funny part is that Dominican in America are looked no different than black people, racist put us all in the same category. Also music at the riu parties was terrible ✌?

Some of the food wasn't that good, a utility closet in my building caught on fire, my sheets and pillow cases weren't changed, some towels weren't clean, I didn't have any wash cloths the first day I arrived, there were bugs in my room and the refrigerator.

Everything Good, service

The staff was great. Overall great attitudes. Room. was very nice. Lots of different very nice pools with different things to do at those pools. Lots of quick fun games organized by staff for those that enjoy doing that. Food was overall a little disappointing. There were some great things we ate, but some things they need to tighten up Italian restaurant was just not good. Everything we had there was mediocre. Almost no sauce on anything. Steak resending was much better, but they tend to cook all the steaks the same regardless of how you order them. French fusion restaurant was best on the property.

All good

Beautiful Beach. Landscaping was gorgeous. Well laid out. Pleasant and helpful staff. Spa was wonderful. Excellent food at Pepe’s, buffet, steakhouse and Kabuki. Loungers at pools very low and uncomfortable. Chairs are needed as an alternative. Evening entertainment variable quality. Start shows earlier as young folks have all the RIU party stuff.

Breakfast There was sufficient variety to choose from. Good tasting breakfast each morning. The buffet is a good offering to guests to view and choose their preferences. Location The location was within 10 to 15 minutes from the malls and other entertainment businesses. Facilities The room was well kept and towels were refreshed daily. I felt comfortable about the amenities and the food was very good.

WE HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL RESORTS - I WAS DISSAPOINTED. THE POOLS THE TILES ARE FALLING OFF MISSING HARDLEY ANYBOY CAN SPEAK ENGLISH - HANDICAP FACILTY IS A JOKE - I LEFT $5 A DAY IN ROOM- A EMPTY CUP BY THE BED WAS NEVER MOVED FOR SEVERAL DAYS - THE SHAMPOO AND SOAP DISPPENSOR WERE NEVER REFILLED- I TIPPED A $1 EVERY TIME THEY BROUGHT US A DRINK - SOMETIMES IT WOULD BE A VERY LONG TIME BEFORE THEY CAME BACK.

Nothing. Absolutely atrocious customer service. They lie and do not honor any booking arrangements you made online & you're expected to just deal with it after traveling several hours to get there. Staff at check in was rude. Refused to honor the elite upgrade which we clearly had in writing, didn’t offer any apology, discount to apply it, etc. Food was very mediocre (photos of raw lobster & very overcooked “filet” that was ordered medium rare). Most staff you could tell didn’t love their job.

The parties were absolutely amazing. If partying is the main reason you’re booking an all-inclusive, Riu definitely delivers. The Neon Party, Jungle Party, and White Party were a blast and far exceeded our expectations. The beach was also beautiful—yes, there’s always some seaweed, but it was minimal, and some days there was none at all. The food was another highlight. We were warned by many people not to eat fresh food, seafood, or ice in the Dominican Republic, but we ate everything and never got sick once. The buffet staff were friendly and pleasant, and overall the dining experience was great. We had a junior swim-up ocean view suite. I loved having the swim-up pool, and it was kept very clean. We also did not see a single bug anywhere in our room or around the resort, which was a pleasant surprise since I was expecting otherwise. The liquor was honestly awful—the lowest quality I’ve ever experienced at an all-inclusive resort. It tasted like rubbing alcohol, which was surprising given we’ve stayed at resorts in other countries and never experienced anything that bad. The room had a strong, musty smell for the entire trip. When we got home, every fabric item we brought—clothes, bags, everything—smelled terrible, which was extremely disappointing. The front desk staff really turned me off. They were rude, short, and overall not pleasant. There was no warmth or friendliness, and they rarely smiled. In contrast, the buffet staff were great. We were also surprised by how little English was spoken around the resort, especially among staff. This isn’t meant to sound entitled—we’ve traveled to countries like India, Jamaica, and Costa Rica, where communication was much easier. It just made things more difficult than expected. Lastly, the entertainment staff was just okay. Some of them didn’t smile once the entire trip and seemed uninterested or unhappy to be there, which affected the overall vibe.
