Shilla Stay Busan Haeundae

Pool was closed. Hotel rooms need a facelift. Lots of visible marks, water damage, etc.

Excellent location across from the beach and walkable to many local restaurants and shops. Comfortable beds and bathroom. The elevators were very slow to arrive. The room had a cigarette smell, especially the first night. The wallpaper was very uneven and looked like it wasn’t applied properly (?). Wish that use of the pool was included for all guests.

This place does not come close to 4 star quality. It is much more realistically a 2 star hotel that brands itself as 4 star and charges 4 star prices. Rationale: (1) The rooms are dilapidated. We stayed in two of them, both had issues. 1st room we were evacuated from at 3 am due to sewer gas coming up from the bathroom. 2nd room the water damage from the bathroom caused the sliding bathroom door to come off its track and swing. So, no functioning bathroom door. (2) You have no control of HVAC in the room. I've stayed in 1 star motels that at least give you this ability. The fix: a plug-in fan that has a timer and shuts off every 30 mins or so. We had to rig it with tape to get it to stay on. (3) Only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire place. The dryers don't actually dry. After 3 45-min sessions clothes still wet (5 sets of summer tanks and shorts very light fabric, no pants!) If you are washing clothes just hang dry in the room. (4) WiFi is limited and slow.

Location

Great view of the ocean/beach and close to cafes, restaurants and shopping. The ocean view room has floor to ceiling windows for a great view. The breakfast package was worth the expense. Lot's of options for everyone and well done. nothing to mention.

I really appreciated the price, location, and the cleanliness of the room. I liked how they gave us 2 bottles of water per day and the location in between bus stops and a few minutes away from the subway. Next to the haeundae market, beach, and dongbaekseom. Great walking trails and the Bay 101! Laundry room is nice downstairs and convenience store, too! Across the street from well known bakeries and McDonald's I wish there was another mirror, but that could be just me. There wasnt a curtain in our bathtub, but with adjustments during showers, it was fine.

We love the location. It is near Haeundae beach, walking distance even for small kids. It has a taxi stand in front, nearby Mcdonalds, nearby bus stop. The rooms are very comfortable too. The sensor light near the door of our room was malfunctioning. It turns on and off and is quite bothersome when sleeping at night. I reported it and the engineers/maintenance immediately checked on it. However, the problem persisted and lasted for our entire stay. We also expected the pool to be open since the description in Booking.com indicated it is open. However, hotel said there might be confusion as the pool is not yet open during our stay mid-June. Other than this, we love everything about the hotel.

Great location! Walking distance to the beach, airport limousine bus stop right in front of the hotel as well as Busandang bakery which had very delicious bread!

Location It was a 4 star hotel but feels like more 2 or 3 starts hotel. Needs renovation in room and ned needs to be bigger. Mo basic amenities in the room.

The view of the beach was very nice, location is great. The size of the room was good, the sparse furniture within it meant that much of it was wasted space. It was raining when we arrived to a corner room, with a beautiful view (misty beach) but a leak nearby in the roof/gutter, or something, and there was a loud and persistent DRIP sound for 36 hours before we decided we couldn't do another night with it. Probably bad luck, hopefully it's been fixed.

Everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The room was bright and airy with lots of natural light, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent, close to Haeundae Beach, and the building itself was modern and pleasant. There wasn’t anything major to dislike. I didn’t use the hotel facilities, so I can’t comment on those. Overall, everything met expectations and there were no issues.

haeundae beach This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. For a hotel with such a prestigious reputation, I expected excellent service, cleanliness, and facilities. Unfortunately, the reality was the complete opposite. The service was poor, and the overall property felt neglected and poorly maintained.The lobby was visibly dirty, with stained carpets and public areas that did not appear to be properly maintained. The chairs and sofas looked as though they had not been professionally cleaned in years and felt unhygienic to sit on. The room facilities were equally disappointing. The bidet felt outdated, as if it belonged decades ago. It did not provide warm water, and the water pressure was weak. I have stayed in small budget hostels that offered cleaner and more modern facilities than this hotel. The paint on the floors was peeling, adding to the impression that maintenance has been ignored for a long time. I was also surprised to see such a well-known hotel without carpeting in certain areas. In hindsight, perhaps that was for the best—given the condition of the rest of the property, any carpets would likely have been dusty and poorly maintained as well. I specifically traveled a long distance and chose this hotel because of its reputation. Sadly, the experience fell far below expectations and felt like a complete waste of time and money. A famous name alone is not enough; guests expect quality, cleanliness, and proper upkeep. This hotel failed to deliver on all three.
