Beautiful property and garden that's lovely to hang out or have a swim in. The rooms are in different buildings, so I can only comment on the pool house. I appreciated the helpful, friendly nature of the team. They even let me check in several hours early. For me, the bed was quite uncomfortable-- mattress, old pillows and polyester sheets. I was also anticipating a quiet, restful vibe at night but there were lots of barking dogs and crying babies.

Fascinating building in a really interesting part of Rio. Bit of a hike from the centre and up a serious hill but taxi/ metro make it all doable. Having a pool was a real bonus in the height of summer. The staff were super friendly and really helpful with advice and sorting restaurants/ taxis etc. Not much.

All the hosts were incredible and very helpful, they give you their whatsapp numbers in case you have a question. Everybody was welcoming, nice and interesting to talk to. They do their best to give you insights about the city and the neighborhood. I slept on a futon, you have to be used to it.

the pool, the staff and the breakfasts were all great! Especially loved the cake. Nothing.

Cristina welcomed us very warmly and was so helpful, available and friendly. The location is great, in a very quiet street, very close from nice restaurants and shops. The house is charming with a great pool and beautiful garden.

Beautiful house in Santa Teresa, located in a quiet neighbourhood. The villa is confortable, within walking distance from many restaurants and bars. The pool is very nice. We felt very welcome. Cristina & Walter helped us organise our activities in Rio and around. We felt safe in the neighbourhood and had no trouble moving around the city with Uber from & to the villa.

Friendly and helpful staff, historic building, location interesting but challenging. Initial room very disappointing but responded quickly to a request for change and room in the main house was fine. Breakfast could be presented better and more varied. Info on Rio for a tourist was very limited and dated.

location was lovely but a bit far from the centre of Rio We couldn't get the temperature of the shower to change. It was too hot. We should have mentioned it to the staff but didn't.

Our family had a great time at Villa Laurinda! The staff was kind, respectful, and always ready to give tips on local attractions and dining options. They arranged our New Year's Eve (driver, restaurant reservation), making our experience exceptional. The house is charming and well-decorated with an artistic touch. The rooms are good-sized with well-appointed bathrooms. Breakfast is a plus and Santa Teresa is a lovely neighborhood with lots to do.

Staying at Villa Laurinda was the kickstart to probably the most amazing trip of my life in my 22 years on this earth. I originally booked here, because it had good ratings in a safe area. So, for us (3 American women in a big city that they only knew so much alike) to arrive to, not only a house but a home, was bliss. Walter gave us a sense of understanding of the bigger picture of Brasil, while taking the time to introduce us to his surroundings. And Daniel was the most wonderful host, conversationalist, & guide to the beautiful city that he cares so much about. He brings such a warm sense of home to the Villa. We’re so glad we stayed here, especially as our first stop. The Villa Laurinda has such a magical, peaceful feeling that we’re so grateful to have experienced!

It was great to enjoy the swimming pool in Santa Teresa. The Villa is in a very quiet street but only 4 minutes away from our favourite bars and restaurants in Santa Teresa.
