The owner Orna is incredibly friendly and at the same time not nosy. The pool is great, the room was fine - we shared a room with five people and it was spacious and had a dining table and a private bathroom. The location is great, close to Tayrona Park, and it is easy to get to the Park or to Santa Marta by bus. There were lots of cats (with kittens, the kids were very happy about that!) and turtles.

Finca Gordita is a delightful home run by the incredibly friendly and helpful, Juan, who made our visit memorable. We originally booked for a couple of days and then extended to a week. Great value. Our room was simple and comfortable. Juan, let us use his refrigerator and washing machine (for a small fee) and offered us lifts into Calabazo or even Santa Marta when he was going that way. With a large pool, it was a place to easily relax. It’s located about 2 km along the main highway from Calabazo and the western entrance into Tayrona National Park and it set back from the road, from which there's a little traffic noise but it's not intrusive. Staying here was a real pleasure.

It was cheap and made for a good story, the turtles (or tortoises) were cool Hoping to find a relaxing farm stay… We arrived to a party around the pool, adults drinking, children playing and swimming and running around, seemingly a birthday for family or friends, unfortunately Orna was not there. The music was loud. There was an elderly lady who was seemingly overwhelmed with all the children running around and also seemed surprised at our arrival. After much struggle translating finally showed my partner to a room the first one having people already in it, moved on to another room.. The bed was hard, the aircon was barely sealed to the window. The only tv was in the lounge room with more children watching it. At this point we didn’t feel welcome or like being outside our room. Around 8:30pm someone knocked on the door, Yarley, who was taking the duties of host for the night offered us some dinner we accepted 1 meal realising we had no other option but to walk 30 minutes to shops which may not be open. Did not feel welcome or accommodated at all. Also charged us more for 1 meal than we had expected per previous reviews, which we saw children tending to cooking at one point. The meal was ok but not worth the extra money for chewy meat and rice. The music is still very loud at this point. We returned to our room to attempt relaxing and waiting for the music to stop and people to leave, which didn’t happen until after midnight. The shower had hair in it, the room wasn’t well cleaned or aired out quite stuffy, awoke with terrible sinuses from the sleep and couldn’t wait to leave. The next day there were beer cans littered everywhere outside from the party. Maybe we stayed on the wrong night, didn’t get to try the apparent amazing fresh juice and didn’t get to meet the owners.

Perfect place to get away from the city and relax. Nice refreshing pool and friendly animals. The family is amazing and made us feel right at home.

Quiet calm and pretty property. Nice hosts, lovely kids. Walking distance from calabazo entrance for tayrona. Kitchen was shared with hosts but well equipped and comfortable. Not the hosts fault but no electricity one full day, so no wifi and there’s no 4g there (with our sims anyway) Pool wasn’t operational one full day either 10k pesos charge per bag to leave there while in tayrona. Curtains in private room were see-through

Everything! The owner is so nice and made us feel right at home. We were a little stressed with getting cash and finding somewhere to eat and she offered to make us food. It was really delicious and the best plantains I've had in a month in Colombia! Ended up staying another night. Also, so many nice animals to make it even better :) Would be a good idea to offer some drinks available to purchase and maybe some information about the area, including tyrona Park

Orna and her husband are incredible people! We are super grateful for our stay. From the mango juice in the morning, all the animals around, a really confortable kitchen to cook, and all the best recomendations to visit the park. For the price we payed, we couldnt have asked for better.

Orna (Owner) was so accommodating. She cooked us a lovely breakfast (even though we left very early) and a huge dinner - so delicious and exactly what we needed before/after hiking Tayrona! We were able to leave our bags with her whilst in Tayrona. We also loved all the animals !! 15mins walk to the Calabazo exit ? Nothing

The owner was very friendly and cooked a lovely dinner for us. Was a peaceful stay after a night in tayrona park. Easy to get to on local buses. Also loved the tortoises Some of the slats on the bed fell during the night and the side light didn't have a bulb in. Didn't affect our stay though.

Wonderful, helpful host. Cooked a great breakfast and dinner for us on request and very good value. Local organic fruit and veg. Very simple place. But the perfect stop before going to the quieter calabazos entrance to Tayrona park( much better than the crowded route). Also washed and dried 3 loads of washing for our group. Air con was effective and rooms simple and clean. We didn't get a chance to use pool or football pitch. Nothing to say here.

Super cute farm with a lovely swimming pool.

Big room, big pool, great food, cold air con, some of the most helpful hosts we’ve met in Colombia and all cheaper than

Beautiful place in a very tranquil surrounding. The lady that runs it is a absolute angel and very caring for her guests. Would highly recommend nothing, everything was lovely

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights around our time in Taryona park, and we absolutely loved it. The owner Orna is so lovely, kind and informative, we felt like she was our Colombian mum! She let us keep our bags while we went in the park, and cooked us a lovely dinner when we returned with sore legs! The room was spacious, with Aircon and a fan (needed!). The hotel is in gorgeous surroundings too, you can see monkeys and birds from the house, and the pool was an absolute delight after all that hiking! It is about a 20 minute walk to Calabozo entrance or Orna can arrange a mototaxi for you (which takes you further in the park)

Close to Calabazo, where the trek to Sierra Nevada starts. Showers were dirty, the host seems to not know we were coming.
-
Really good food and location. We could enjoy and amazing bath in the swimming pool.

I only liked the host who were very nice and tried to be helpfull Simply: I don't recommend this place. It's far from Guatape - the nearest place where you can buy some food. At hospedaje only breakfast is served and it's not worth the money (15k) comparing to the prices in other places. The room that I got, was horrible. The metal doors of the room and bathroom were covered with rust, sheets and mattress seemed dirty and the bed was extremely uncomfortoble.

This is a lovely, quiet and friendly place. They will serve you the most delicious fresh mango juice, we could not get enough of it! Very comfy beds also :)
