The property is well worn and lacks proper maintenance. Chipped drywall was not repaired, but merely painted. There was a blue wall that had been damaged in some spots. Those spots were painted with a darker blue. The hallway smelled like old food. The carpeting in the hallway looked dirty and the hallway walls were damaged. I commented to the manager on duty Monday morning, June 29, 2026 that the bathtub was slippery and somewhat dangerous. She retorted that the hotel was not required to provide non-slip devices in the tubs. When I asked for the contact information for the owner of the hotel, she adamantly refused. I cannot recommend this hotel in good conscience. They need to clean up their act and their property. If this is a Baymont approved property, then Baymont needs to review their approval policy. I would appreciate hearing from a Baymont executive who oversees approving franchise owners.

My stay at this hotel was very uncomfortable. Firstly, the top security lock in my room was broken. Which caused me to feel unsafe. Especially, because my stay included two toddler children who were able to pull the handle of the door down and the door would immediately come open. So we had to keep the door barricaded with hotel chairs and suitcases to secure the safety of our toddlers. Which in return created another safety hazard had we needing to vacate the premises quickly. Secondly, the cleanliness of the room was poor. Their appeared to be blood splatters in the carpet and on the wall near the sink. Our sheets were clean however, they had visible staining that didn't come out in the wash. Washcloths and towels were embedded with so much hair, that we couldn't use them and had to purchase new items from Walmart. Also, the inside of the refrigerator was stained with dark liquids that hadn't been wiped out. My mother and three adult sisters had similar issues with their rooms as well. It was a very unfortunate and unpleasant experience. Especially because all of us traveled from out of state 5+ hours to Rochester, spending our hard earned money with Baymont for such a poor stay. Front desk Staff appeared nice and are aware that housekeepers are needed. We did not eat their breakfast so I can't rate it.

The property is older and not particularly well maintained. The pool was undergoing maintenance and not available. I struggled to lock the door to my room as it didn't line up properly. They were not at all near capacity based on the cars in the lot yet I got a unit that was half below ground level looking out to the back parking area so needed to close the curtains for privacy. The air conditioner was loud and despite a complicated control panel I was only able to have it run continuously or not at all resulting in a poor night's sleep. The front hall switch was useless... the light fixture had been replaced by a hardwired smoke detector leaving me to wonder if it only worked if the switch was in the ON position. It made the room dark and gloomy. I passed on breakfast based on the upkeep of what I'd seen. I skipped even the coffee as they only had styrofoam cups. You would think that a hotel catering to people going to the Mayo Clinic would be aware of the carcinogenic risk of drinking hot liquids from styrene.

All good

Room was very good. Wish there were easier outlets to charge cell phones & computers. Hidden on the bottom of the lamp = hard to see etc. Breakfast was good - basics cereal, toast, waffles, yogurt - all good.
