Hostel Trastevere

Literally the only good thing was the location. The room I stayed in smelled, it was extremely dirty, and most of the stuff was not working, including lights and AC. The hostel staff knew there was a horrendous bedbug situation and were still accepting people and not telling them about it. Only got like 15 euros back when I requested a refund. For the most expensive hostel I’ve stayed in, it was by far the worst one. A total scam. I was gonna stay for 4 nights and I stayed for about an hour and that was enough to convince me to spend more money to get a hotel. I heard terrible stories about how people were being treated and what they had to go through here.

Nothing!!! The room had an ACTIVE BED BUG INFESTATION. I woke up with around ten bed bugs crawling on my body and had to kill them myself. There were bites all over me, and blood stains on the sheets and walls. Other guests in the room were bitten too. I have video and photo evidence of all of it. The worst part is that the hostel KNEW. Reception admitted to me that they would not move me to another room specifically because they did not want to spread the infestation elsewhere in the property. They relocated one guest, and knowingly left me and another guest in the infested room. They chose to protect the rest of the hostel and sacrifice us. I could not sleep for two nights. I ended up trying to sleep on the floor, away from the beds, and the bed bugs still came onto me. I asked repeatedly to be moved or refunded, and I was simply ignored. This is not a cleanliness complaint. It is a health hazard. Bed bugs cause bites, skin reactions, and infections, and they spread rapidly. Every guest leaving this hostel risks carrying eggs in their luggage to their next accommodation, their next city, and their own home. The eggs are nearly impossible to detect and hatch days later. This hostel is actively exporting an infestation across Europe and doing nothing about it. The room was also filthy on arrival, the bathroom had no basic supplies, and I was placed in an 8-bed dorm despite booking a 4-bed room. To anyone considering this place: DO NOT STAY HERE. This is a real, ongoing health risk, and management is fully aware and refuses to act.

I booked and was charged for a 4 beds bedroom and they sent me to an 8 beds bedroom. No intention of making it right at all. On top of everything, this hostel is completely infested with bed bugs. Several guests from different rooms has the same problem. We made several reports providing proofs, even though booking and they did absolutely NOTHING. I had to pay for another hostel because the one and only night I spent at this place was absolutely HORRIBLE. Avoid this hostel at all costs... Some staff member told us they have a type of attic completely infested top to bottom with bed bugs... The owners are aware and they will do absolutely NOTHING to fix it nor to compensate guests. Same with booking. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

The friendly staff did everything they could to make our stay wonderful The beds in the rooms didn't have any partitions to provide any privacy, the closets didn't have locks, and even if we brought padlocks, there was no way to put them on lol. The bathroom we used had see-through shower stalls, which was really uncomfortable because everyone could see who was in the shower.

The front desk was really helpful and friendly (shoutout to Noel, you're the best). And the location is really super good, it is located near a supermarket, some restaurants, cafés, and near public transportation (Bus and Tram). And it's super convenient to commute around the hostel. I didn't get the room I was expecting to get, and some furniture in the room is not functioning well. When I was there, a shower head was broken. Hope they'll fix it soon. And I have used a code instead of a keycard. I wish they had a keycard; it'd be more convenient.

Cleaning (for the 6bed female room) was bad, the bathroom was smelling so bad (didn’t have this problem in upstair) and ac never stopped the noise so I had to change the room in the middle of night ? there is like “street drain” in downstair of the hostel.. it needs more care

The location is great and it’s close to the public transportation. The worst hostel I’ve stayed at. The restrooms never had soap. It smelled very bad. I stayed in two different rooms for different nights, so I got to see another room as well and both of them were not clean, bathroom smelled like urine and showers weren’t the cleanest. The cleaning person was male and it was a bit awkward at times when he was entering the room. I was in the four female dormitory room however they added a 5th bed later on. The beds are very close to each other and it’s not comfortable location wise. Not worth the price though!! Not at all…

Once I arrived, my reserved bed was occupied, they offered me to move to another one the next day, but for some reason, they couldn't, but they offered a free breakfast during my stay for that issue.

Relatively private bathroom and AC in the room. Bathroom didn't have any soap. Make sure to have your own padlock so you can secure your things in the locker.

It’s accessible to almost anything. The toilet stains in the bowl. And it kind of smelly already. There were no soap on the dispenser. The lockers are so noisy and the furniture too maybe because it’s rusty and made from steel

One more humiliation. I am still pending refunding from.Booking.com as you guys have already received my two claims but you didn't respond yet. Please honor and valiue your clients like me.

Fluffy soft foam bed and down comforter :) Very clean sheets and clean rooms, floors, zero dirt. The owner needs to have ALL the pipes to the toilets and showers cleaned out with a professional snake hose. There is too many guests flushing large amounts of waste, toilet paper, and hair down the toilets!!! Please tape signs on the doors and tell people not to put anything down the toilets. Because the smell of urine is so strong, it's coming up the toilet and out into the area of our beds. As soon as you flush, you know, it has clogs deep down. This is all the basement rooms ..The staff very kind and good listening skills. Please also buy them bleach and that blue color bathroom cleaner to get rid of the inside stains!!! The all-in-one cleaning product that you have on site, is not cleaning the toilets properly. Needs to be stand up or ceiling fans in all the rooms for airflow and white noise. The pillows are rock hard sand bags from WWII. Can you please have soft fluff pillows? They are only 5 euros at the stores. That's the only reason i could not sleep and have had a permanent migraine since. The mattresses are PERFECT SOFT. Zero bugs! Please tell staff to rehang all the curtains that fell off their plastic, or install a metal bar, so they can be pulled open/closed easier, without ripping down. And larger trash bins! Its gross having to touch the metal can, to throw toliet paper in and then you can't even wash your hands, as there is no liquid hand soap in the bathrooms! This is actually illegal, you have to provide antibacterial hand soap in all establishments. Call the city to pump your pipes ASAP please or you will keep having "dirty bathroom reviews, since people dont know the real cause).

I like everything the vibes are cool and chilled staff is super friendly and efficient always willing to help accommodate your needs without being invasive

They amped up the cleaning staff and the place is spotless, clean and fun to be in

The lobby bathrooms were pretty messy during my whole stay and a better designated work space would have been nice.

The only thing I do t like is rowdy noisy guest but it's not the hotels fault. Its the people who don't respect others right to relax in peace. If you are looking for a quiet stay ask for the back rooms where you dont hear a soul

The people, the argentinian gusys are the best crew! There is no soap at any bathroom

A little behind cleaningness. It's clean but not spotless maybe they need more staff for the demanding traffic they have. Always busy but overall great stay ?
